Edom has fallen

Alec is flipping through a book, in Magnus's apartment mumbling to himself whilst Eva is sleeping against his chest as he had refused to leave her on her own, but to be fair, she didn't want to leave him either, Alec refused to lose her another time and Maryse enters with food for both of them "Have you eaten yet? Either of you" Maryse asks Alec and he shakes his head "No I haven't... Eva wasn't hungry she just cried and cried until she fell asleep." Alec says and Maryse sighs "Sweetheart, it's okay to take some time to mourn. Magnus' bravery saved Alicante. His sacrifice is the only thing that allowed the Clave to successfully banish those remaining wraiths." Maryse says and Alec glared at her instantly "Magnus is not dead. He is in Edom." Alec says and Eva moves in his hold and starts mumbling so he shushed her and rubbed her back settling her back down "We both know that he can't ever come back home. The rift would reopen and all of Edom would come back with him." Maryse says but Alec refuses to believe that "I'm going to find a way. And I'm going to get him back. I have a wedding to plan." He says and Maryse sees that there is no point in arguing with her son so she gets up and picks up her coat "please Alec, remember to look after yourself, if not for your own sake then for hers." Maryse says and leaves Magnus's apartment and Alec holds Eva closer and kisses her head as he lets some tears fall. A few hours later and Alec has fallen asleep on a desk next to a book, Eva is laying on a couch with a blanket wrapped around her and a cushion under her head, Alec ends up waking up from a scratching sound closeby. Alec follows the sound and kneels by the chameleon terrarium. In the glass, the chameleon has spelled out 'Help'. Alec gets up and picks up his phone so he can call Catarina on the phone "Hey, Catarina. This is gonna sound a little bit crazy, but I think you should come over to Magnus' and check on his... lizard." Alec says whilst looking at the Chameleon and he listens to Catarina who is just as confused as he is "Yeah, I didn't know he had one either." Alec tells her and whilst he's on the phone a fire message flies through the window into Alec's other hand and he quickly reads over it before he begins to panic "You have to come over here quickly. I have to go. Something happened to Isabelle." Alec says hanging up his phone and he quickly rushes over to Eva picking her up and waking her "princess wake up, we have to go to the institute... somethings happened to Izzy." Alec says to her and she groans but wakes up and looks into her brothers eyes tiredly " 's she okay?" Eva asks sleepily and Alec sighs "I don't know kiddo that's why we have to go." He says and Eva nods and moves her hand making a portal before she opens her eyes and leans her head on Alec's shoulder. When Alec gets to the institute with Eva and is on his way to the infirmary. He is found by Simon, who's trying to explain what happened "I didn't set her on fire. We were just kissing, and then..." he is cut off by Alec who glares at Simon "You were kissing my sister?" He practically growls at Simon "I mean, she was kissing me, too..." Eva finally pays attention to what's happening "YOU KISSED IZZY?!" She shrieks and Simon flinches a little bit at how loud and high pitched she squealed but he notices she doesn't look mad, she looks excited. Izzy has left her room in the infirmary and encounters Simon and Alec in the hallway with an excited now very awake Eva "Easy, big brother, baby sister." Izzy says pinching Eva's cheek making her giggle before Izzy and Alec hug "Izzy, I was so worried. Is everything all right?" Alec says when he pulls back and Izzy takes Eva off of him when she reaches for her "Just some temporary side effects, but I'm gonna be fine." Izzy says and Simon lets out a sigh of relief "Thank the Angel." Simon says and Eva gives him a funny look, he had never said that before and Eva found it quite funny, Simon steps forward, also about to hug Izzy but she steps back, looking down still holding onto Eva who was playing with Izzy's hair "What, am I not allowed to say that?" Simon asks and Eva giggles "No, uh..." Izzy goes to speak but that's when Clary and Jace come up to them and that's when Eva notices a familiar ear sticking out of Jace's jacket "Izzy, hey, are you okay?" Jace says going to hug Izzy "Hey." Izzy says back and Eva gasps and points in Jace's jacket "Bob!" She says happily and Jace gives her a sad look "Eva... listen, when you were gone something happened to Bob and he's not quite like how you remember him okay?" Jace tells her and Izzy puts Eva down as Jace crouches down in front of her and pulls Bob out of his jacket and Eva quickly notices that his arms and legs are flailing around to wherever the weight is and she gasped "no! What happened to him?" Eva asks and takes Bob from Jace gently as the elephant looks at her "when you left Eva, your connection to the angels started to weaken with Jonathan trying to take control of you, that in turn had an affect on me and now I'm turning back into a toy..." he tells her and she holds Bob close with tears falling down her face "I'm so sorry Bob." Eva tells him and he smiled at her using his trunk to wipe her tears "it's okay Eva, it doesn't hurt, I promise." Bob tells her and that kind of makes Eva  feel better and the others keep talking "We came as soon as we heard." Clary says as she gives Izzy a hug "Great. Hugs for everybody else." Simon says quietly but everyone still hears him "Simon, it... The heavenly fire, from when the sword exploded, until it leaves my system, I can't touch anyone with demon blood." Izzy tells him and he nods in understanding "For how long? Are we talking days, weeks, months?" Simon says and looks at the other shadow hunters for an answer but Izzy sighs "I don't know. I don't know. But I'm gonna be fine, okay? It's manageable." Izzy says and Jace is kind of confused with the situation between Izzy and Simon and he makes his confusion known "What is going on here?" He asks crossing his arms over his chest and it does make Eva smile a little because Jace will definitely go crazy when he finds out about Simon and Izzy "Isabelle and Simon were kissing when this happened." Alec tells them and Clary smiles, but Jace... Jace is in shock which quickly changes to anger as he looks at Simon "You What?..." he says angrily going to move over to Simon when Izzy interjects "Please tell me you have a lead on Jonathan." She says and Jace takes a step back and a deep breath before he answers her "Yeah, we tracked down a mid-level demon known for associating with the Clave on Wall Street. He didn't have any information on Jonathan." Jace says and Clary nods her head "But he did have news on Lilith." She says and Eva is paying attention now when she heard that name "What kind of news?" Alec asks and Clary sighs looking from Alec to Eva "She's gathering an army to take down Magnus." Clary says and Eva gasps hugging Bob tighter as all the colour in Alec's face drains "She'll kill him." Alec says and Eva shakes her head "No!" She squeaked and everyone looked at her "We can't let her hurt Magnus!" She says eyes filling back up with tears and Jace just sighs and looks back at the others "If she does, the rift will reopen." Jace says and Alec shakes his head "He sacrificed everything to save us. If he's going up against Lilith, I have to be there with him." Alec says and Eva nods her head, she wasn't going to abandon her best friend not now, she moved one of her hands to feel the charm in her hair "Alec, you know that if any of us went to Edom, we'd die instantly." Clary says and Izzy makes a noise "The atmosphere is demonic, but maybe I can go. My heavenly fire might protect me... and Eva would be fine there, her chosen one abilities, she has pure Angel blood running through her veins." Izzy says but Alec is quick to cut her off "No, no. Only someone with demon blood can survive there. Simon..." Alec says trailing off thinking about what he is about to ask of Simon and if he is really certain about doing this "I don't have my mark anymore, but I'm sure if you give me enough swords, maybe I can..." Simon starts to say but Alec cuts him off "No. I need you to turn me into a vampire so I can go." Alec says and Eva looks up at him in shock "What? Alec, are you out of your mind?" Jace says and Alec angrily cuts him off "What else am I supposed to do? Please, just let me try this." Alec says and Izzy crossed her arms and shook her head "Absolutely not." She says and Simon nods his head agreeing with her "Izzy's right. I'm a terrible sire." Simon says and Clary looks over at Alec who looks hopeless "We'll find another way." He says and Alec becomes frustrated "What other way? Huh? Tell me. Tell me something. Any of you?" He shouts and Eva jumps a little hugging Bob and then Alec walks away with Jace going after him as Eva watches coming up with her own plan "Okay, we've gotta figure something out." Simon says as Eva comes up with her own plan, and she quickly and quietly slips away and runs off to find a book that she knows will help her.
