Mourning Evangeline Lightwood

Magnus' place is full of candles all lit in the memory of Eva, the entire down world we're mourning the little girl, every Seelie had gone into a mourning faze in the Seelie court, it was a ceremony that was usually only for Seelies that had died. Alec had been absolutely devastated by Eva's death he walked his way out onto the balcony and stands next to Magnus as he lights another candle and he thinks of a memory, he thinks of the day of Max's party and dancing with Eva before hand 'Magnus smiled before he waved his head and a little tiara appeared on her head "there we are a proper princess, shall we?" Magnus bows extending a hand to her and she giggled and took it jumping off the couch "we shall." She says and Magnus lifted her so her feet were on top of his and he danced them around the room as Bob clapped his stuffed arms so it never really made a sound' speaking of Bob the elephant had been heartbroken when he learned what happened to Eva, Alec found him tied up in one of Eva's drawers when he was fixing her things and he told Bob what had happened and the little elephant had been heartbroken, Alec walked up beside Magnus and wrapped his arms around him from behind and Magnus could feel his body shaking as he cried and Magnus knew nothing he could say would make Alec feel better "I'm so sorry Alexander." Magnus says turning in Alec's arms and turning around in his hold and holding Alec's face in his hands and wiping his tears before Alec reaches into his pocket and pulls out a few folded pieces of paper and hands them to Magnus as he moves over to sit in a chair by the balcony and Magnus opens the papers and almost collapses in grief when reads the top of the papers.

Adoption papers

He feels tears build in his eyes as he looks over at Alec as the oldest lightwood sits crying into his hands, Magnus sees that the signatures from Maryse and Robert are already on the piece of paper and he sees Alec's signature as well and a space for his own signature and he looks over at Alec with a lump in his throat "this... this is what you asked Maryse about when she came over for dinner wasn't it?" Magnus said and Alec nodded, "I-I Wa-was going to give her th-them for her b-birthday..." Alec cried out stuttering over his words.

Alec looks back at his mother "I have something to ask you about actually... about Eva, but I need you and dads consent." He says and Maryse looks at him confused "is everything alright Alec?" Maryse asks her son concerned that something might be wrong "what do you need me and Roberts permission for?" She asks and Alec takes a deep breath and takes out the neatly folded sheets of paper from his pocket and hands them to his mother who opens them and gasps "oh Alec..." Maryse says getting emotional as she reads over the adoption papers before she looks over at her son "and this is definitely what you want? You want to adopt Evangeline as your own daughter?" She asks him and Alec nods his head also getting emotional "I've practically raised her as my own, I love her mom more than anything and Magnus loves her two and I'm sorry but she deserves parents that love her." Alec says and Maryse nods her head in understanding and sees a pen on the table, she picks it up and opens the papers again and signs her name on the adoption papers and Alec has tears running down his face as he watches his mother sign the papers before she hands them back to him and pulls him into a hug after he puts them back into his pocket "oh I'm so proud of you Alec and everything you've done, and how you've raised Eva to be such a kind and loving little girl." Maryse said as she hugged her son tightly and only pull away once they hear "Alec? Mommy? Why are you crying?" Eva asks and they instantly wipe their tears before they look over at her and Alec takes her from Magnus "it's okay princess, they're happy tears I promise." He tells her

At the institute Jace opens the door to Eva's bedroom and thinks of all the moments he saw her in this room. he walks into the room and sits on her small bed before he gets up and picks up the picture album and begins looking through all the pictures and he stops on one that makes him smile, there was a picture of a younger him throwing a baby Eva up into the air getting ready to catch her, with a younger izzy in the background looking horrified he read the label and saw it said 'Jace and Eva give Izzy a heart attack', he remembered that day like it was yesterday, he had been giving the task of looking after Eva for a few hours whilst Alec was busy with something and so Jace was looking for new ideas of things that he could do with Eva so he decided to play Rocket Ships with Eva which consisted of throwing her into the air and catching her again.... Best to say that Izzy was not impressed she had returned from training and went to go and check on Jace and Eva to see Eva being thrown into the air by Jace with Alec laughing watching them and taking a picture of the happy duo before Izzy bursts in "JACE WAYLAND! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Izzy screeches and rushes to take baby Eva off of Jace as she giggles up a storm and squeals at seeing her big sister's face in front of her before trying to eat her sisters hair "oh come on Iz, we're only having fun and besides no one's getting hurt, look at how happy Eva is." Jace says pointing at the happy toddler who has put her little fist in her mouth and Alec walks over pulling her hand from her mouth and giving it a quick wipe on a cloth before giving her a pacifier that she leaned towards Alec to get, and Izzy walks over to the other side of the room to pick up Eva's favourite toy, a stuffed elephant that Alec had gotten for her a few weeks ago and gives it to the baby who squeals happily and holds the elephant between her itty bitty hands... Jace holds the photo album to his chest as he sobs out falling off of the end and onto the floor of Eva's room as his sobs echoed off of the walls of the small room he can't accept the fact that his baby sister is gone forever, he sits there in that room allowing himself to be haunted by happy memories before the door opened and Clary strolled in and saw him crying by himself and went over beside him and sat down on the floor pulling him into to a hug to try and comfort Jace who she had never ever seen so upset and distraught over anything before so she just held him tightly and thought about all the times that she had been with Eva and she was overwhelmed by guilt because she remembered all the times when they first met that she treated the little toddler horribly.
