The Forsaken Attack

Alec had been mostly quiet as they walked back to the institute only speaking if it was to Eva, he was furious that his parents had hidden their involvement with the circle and the uprising, they were now in the forensics department of the institute having a look over the corpse before they allowed Izzy to do her work "We need to make sure no magic was used to make this. I'm calling the nearest High Warlock to come in to consult." Lydia says as she looks at the forsaken body and Alec's eye snap to Lydia as Eva smiles "Magnus Bane? To come here to the Institute?" He says and Eva cheered "Yay! Sparkles!" She said and Lydia looks at Alec before looking back at the forsaken "Yes, is there a problem?" She asks and Alec shakes his head "No. Not at all. Magnus is, um... quite magical. He's, uh, very... very good at magic. And Eva had taken a shine to him, they're good friends," he says and Eva nods proudly "yeah he gave me my pretty hair charm, see?" She says showing off her hair to Lydia who notices the Warlock charm and nods, she had been wondering what was in the girls hair "Do you know him well?" She asks and Eva nods and Alec shakes his head before he stops and stutters for an answer "Uh, just a little." He says and Lydia nods before smiling "I actually can't wait to meet him. Did you know that my great ancestor, Henry Branwell, who was the last of the Branwells to run an Institute, and Magnus Bane invented the Portal?" She says and Eva was shocked "Sparkled invented the portal? That's so cool!" She said and Alec just rolled his eyes "No I didn't I'll just add that to the list of things I didn't know." He said and begins walking out with Eva toddling behind him. Lydia follows him "Alec. I'm sorry. You shouldn't have had to find out your parents were ex-Circle members. Not like that." She says and he stops turning to her glaring in anger but not anger at her, anger towards his parents, "You mean from you? You shouldn't have been the one I found out from." He said and Lydia decides to try and change the subject as Eva is also frowning "You know there's been a ban about talking about the Circle till now." She says and Alec scoffs, it worries Eva a little bit because her brothers getting upset "Yeah, how convenient for our parents." He says and Lydia doesn't really know what to say to him that will make him feel better "This doesn't change how I feel about the Lightwoods. Your family has always had a strong alliance with mine. They've been a powerful force in the Shadow World and praised for their devotion." She says and Eva is confused "what's devotion mean?" She asks but is ignored by both adults making her huff ""Devotion"? My parents were in league with Valentine." He says and Lydia looks at him "People make mistakes." She says and Alec just shakes his head still annoyed with the fact that his parents were a part of the circle. "Yeah, but this one... it's unforgivable." He says before he walks off, leaving Eva behind as she called out for her brother, he didn't answer her, he was too annoyed by what he had found out, Eva got upset and Lydia noticed "hey... it's ah... it's okay? He's just in a bad mood just now, he'll be fine in a little while." She says to Eva who sniffles and wipes her eyes and nose on her sleeve, she nods at Lydia "I know... I just don't like it when he's cross because he ends up being mean," she says and Lydia nods "well if he ends up being mean to you, you come and find me okay?" She says and Eva nods "why don't you go find your sister, she'll be working with Magnus, seeing him might make you feel better." Lydia says and Eva smiled thinking about her friend before she ran off.

Magnus had arrived at the institute to assist Izzy with the autopsy and he was currently scanning the Forsaken using his magic. "You almost done?" She asks as she pulls on a pair of latex gloves whilst she looked towards Magnus "Patience is a virtue, my dear." He said and Izzy almost looks a child whining impatiently "Come on. I want to get my hands on that thing." She says and Magnus smirks at her "Speaking of which, how is Alexander? I was hoping I might hear from him." He says as Eva walks in "Alec's grumpy and I'm annoyed... hello Sparkles! Your back!" She said moving over and hugging his leg. And he smiled down at her "Putrefaction. It's decomposing." Izzy says about the forsaken and Eva grins "cool!... what does that mean?" She asks and Izzy just chuckles and Magnus moves round the side of the table "It's just so hard to tell if Alexander is even interested. I mean, I can't fathom why he wouldn't be." Magnus says and Eva turned to Izzy about the speak "Don't ask, I'm not sure if you noticed, but my brother is not exactly warm and fuzzy." She says to Eva before turning to Magnus who nods "Hmm, I suppose. With Clary's arrival..." he says and Izzy smiles "And Valentine's return..." Izzy says and Eva takes a turn as well "Hm-hm. Running the Institute..." she says and they both laugh "The envoy from the Clave..." Izzy says and Magnus looks up "Oh, who I hear is very impressive." Eva nodded with a smile "her names Lydia, she's kinda nice I suppose." Eva shrugged and Magnus nodded "What else? Oh. Babysitting Jace." He said and Eva giggled making Magnus smile over at her, Eva pulled her bag off of her back and took out Bob to hug him close "And dealing with our parents who are trying to find him a wife." Izzy said and both Magnus and Eva looked shocked. "What?" Eva said getting upset and Izzy looked at both of them "Sorry." She said and Magnus shook his head "It's quite all right. I suppose Alec is just following his duty." Magnus says and Eva huffs "But it's not fair! I'm Alec's princess! And if he marries someone they'll be his princess and he'll forget about me! But if Alec marries Magnus then I'll still be his princess and Magnus would be Alec's prince right?" She said as she got upset she hugged Bob close before she started crying and Magnus quickly picked her up trying to comfort her "I don't want Alec to forget me!" She cried and Magnus and Izzy both felt bad for the four year old "Not everyone gets the luxury of following their heart. Eva you know Alec would never forget you. He loves you too much." She says and Eva shook her head not listening to her sister, Magnus put her back on the floor and she ran out the room with Bob, she ran through the institute until she saw the training room and thought that Hodge might make her feel better but it was Alec who was there training shirtless and once he saw Eva in tears he stopped what he was doing and quickly ran over "Eva? Hey, what's wrong?" She said nothing and started sobbing whilst reaching for Alec who lifted her up and held her to his chest "why are you crying?" She said nothing but kept crying, sobbing loudly into his shoulder she sobbed for a few minutes before Magnus showed up with the preliminary findings. Alec stops bouncing Eva when he sees Magnus.
