Alec is standing on the platform in the Ops centre, speaking to the crowd "We have lost seven of our own, but we can't allow a single radical Seelie to define the entire Downworld, any more than we can allow Valentine to define all Shadowhunters. So, to restore unity with our allies, I will be hosting regular cabinet meetings here with the Downworld leaders of New York. These meetings will promote..." Eva is distracted away from her brother when two shadow hunters in front of her start talking about her brother "I'm all for unity, but does he have to bring them here?" The female says and the man scoffs "What do you expect? He's dating a warlock." The man says and Eva glared up at them and Bob shakes his head at the two 'adults' "Still can't believe Alec Lightwood is in charge." The woman says and the man chuckles "Just wait. In a week, it'll be someone else." The man reassured and that was enough for Eva "hey if you two wanna keep your jobs, stop talking about my brother." She warns them and they turn to her and laugh "and what are you gonna do about it if we don't pipsqueak." The man says and Izzy steps forward beside her sister "she isn't gonna do anything but I am, so back off and leave my sister alone and show some damn respect." Izzy tells them and they pale and turn around not saying another word "Security will be tighter, both here and in the sub-cells. Please, let's make the Downworlders feel welcome." Eva pays attention to the end of her brother's speech and she sees him nod and walk down the stairs as the crowd dissolves, she runs over to him as Alec approaches Jace and Clary "Look at you. In charge for a week, you're already shaking things up. I think this cabinet thing's a good idea." Jace says and Eva nods her head "yeah I think so too because it gives down worlders the chance to talk about their problems that they have and it gives them a chance to talk about their worries." Eva says with a smile and Alec smiles and scoops her up kissing her head "Yeah, I'm not sure everyone agrees." Alec says with a sigh and Bob flaps his ears to hover in front of Alec "you can never please everyone Alec." He says and the man nods as Izzy joins them "All the more reason to do it. How can I help?" Clary asks and Eva smiled at her but Alec smirks "Actually, I need you and Jace for a mission. Going to the Seelie Court." Alec tells her and she looks confused "Where is that?" Clary asks and Izzy shrugs "The nearest entrance is in Central Park. But it's in another realm. Where the Seelie Queen lives." Izzy says and Eva gasps "A QUEEN?! CAN I GO! CAN I GO!" Eva shouts and bounces in her brothers arms and he winces at the volume before looking at Jace who nods and so Alec sighs "fine... but you listen to everything Jace and Clary tell you and you are on your best behaviour! Promise me that you'll behave." He says and Eva nods her head as quickly as she can "I promise! I promise!" She says excitedly and Alec smiles "I requested an audience with her to discuss Kaelie's crimes. However, she said she'll only meet with "Valentine's experiments", she did mention that she would like to be acquainted with the chosen one so Eva can go as long as she stays with you two at all times..." Alec says and Clary nods "Wow. Charming nickname don't you think? So you think the Seelie Queen is responsible for Kaelie's attacks?" Clary asks curiously and Alec shrugs his shoulders not sure "That's what I want you to find out." He says and Jace nods his head "That would make sense. Those murders weren't exactly Kaelie's style." Jace says thoughtfully and Clary and Eva both looked confused as Alec just gives him a look "How did you know Kaelie?" Clary asks and Eva would quite like to know the answer as well "Book club." Jace says shrugging nonchalantly as Alec smirks "you can read?" Eva says the same time Clary asks "What... you read?" and Jace looks offended as Eva watches Bob flying about by flapping his ears occasionally he would spin in a circle and spin upside down making Eva giggle and laugh at him which made him smile back at her "Yeah. Why does everyone find that so hard to believe?" Jace asks actually offended that people think he can't read. "Look, focus. We need to find out if she's complicit. An entire faction could be turning against us." Alec says trying to get them to focus back on the task at hand "That shouldn't be too hard, right? Seelies can't lie." Clary says and Jace nods his head "Technically, yes. But after hundreds of years of practice, they can expertly manipulate the truth, and the queen's the master." Jace says and Izzy nods her head in agreement and Eva gets a little worried but she's still excited to meet the queen because she knows that her Alec wouldn't put her in danger "She's very dangerous. The entire realm is. More than one Shadowhunter hasn't made it back." Izzy tells them and Eva gulps and Bob hovers in front of her and she reaches forward to hug him and she pulls him towards her and into Alec's arms as well "What could go wrong? But we're, uh, "Valentine's experiments", right? Don't mess with us or the 'Chosen one'." Clary says and it makes Eva laugh before Jace rolls his eyes "okay we'll leave in an hour, Eva if your coming get dressed." Jace says before heading off and Eva huffs "why can't everyone just wear pyjamas everyday?! They're so much comfier and cosier than clothes?!" Eva says frustrated and Alec laughs and kisses her head.
