Happy Birthday Eva!

Clary, Luke, Jace, and Alec are already in the Institute when Simon, Izzy and Magnus come running into the Ops Center "Eva!" Izzy shouts taking her from Alec and hugging her tightly "oh my god your alive! I missed you so much!" She says tears running down her face as she holds her baby sister as close as possible and Simon smiled at her "Am I dreaming?" Simon asks and Eva giggles making everyone smile "I sure hope not Dane." She says and the others chuckle at her, Izzy pulls back from her sister to look over her face "Tell me where Jonathan is. I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch with my bare hands." Izzy says and Eva gasps "Swear!" She says and Izzy laughs at her as Jace sighs "You can't. None of us can." Jace says and Magnus looks interested "Why?" He asks and Eva pulls her onesie a little to the side to show her chest and the mark carved into her skin "Lilith carved this rune into me, right before me and Jace came to fight you and my Alec." She says and Alec sighs in frustration "The rune ties Eva's life force to Jonathan's." He says and Luke nods his head "Hurt one of them, you hurt the other in the exact same way." Luke tells them and Alec turns on a screen which shows footage of Jonathan in the antique shop in Paris along with a message that states 'Jonathan Morgenstern, wanted alive' "Which is why I sent an alert out to the other Institutes. Jonathan must be captured alive." Alec tells them and Eva remembers "He was looking for a sword when he was in Paris. The Morning Star. He says he was going to give it to me as a Birthday gift... If we can find it first, maybe we can track down Jonathan." Eva says and Simon looks confused "Another magic sword?" Simon says and Eva thinks for a second "He said it was some sort of family heirloom." She shrugs and Izzy nods "I'll reach out to all the weapons masters to get intel." She says and Magnus speaks up as well "I'll draw all the ley line junctions in the city. If Jonathan moved the apartment, we'll find him." Magnus says and Eva smiles at her family "Thank you, all of you. I honestly don't know what I would do without you; I missed you all so much, I love you all." She says and everyone smiles at her "we love you too princess." Alec says smiling and at that moment a very exhausted elephant runs into the room panting like crazy as if he had ran from afar "hey... why'd you... run like that.... I have... little... legs!" Bob says before looking at Izzy and seeing Eva in her arms "EVA!!!" He shouts and his trunk lets out a very loud toot of happiness as Izzy puts Eva down and she runs towards Bob scooping him up and hugging him tightly as she laughed happily "BOB!! I missed you!" She says happily before she pulled away and put Bob down before holding his hand "I'm so glad your back to normal! It was so scary when you were possessed by Lilith." Bob says and Eva nods her head "yeah I'm really really sorry Bob, I didn't mean to be so mean to you!" She says and the elephant nods his head and smiles and Alec smiles before clearing his throat "All right, let's get to work, we do have a very busy day tomorrow." He says smirking and Eva looks confused but doesn't say anything and everyone leaves apart from Magnus, Bob and Eva, and Magnus picks up Eva who lifts up Bob and Magnus looks at the little girl who looks worried "Are you okay my dear?" Magnus asks her and she looks over at Alec who is typing something into one of the screens and Magnus knows that Alec wants to get as much work done today so he can spend tomorrow with Eva for her fifth birthday and god knows the kid deserves it and every shadow hunter and downworlder had volunteered to help get things ready for Eva's party after hearing she was alive and well, the hunters moon had offered their bar for a venue for a party, Taito and the other wolves were supplying Chinese food for a buffet, the vampires were on making decorations and the Seelies were growing flowers and shaping them into different shapes, so far Meliorn had made a teddy bear shaped rose bush, and the warlocks were getting Eva some floating lights and a great DJ, whilst the shadow hunters were making a cake. "I can feel it under my skin, Sparkles. It's like it's inside me." She says squirming a little and Magnus frowns "May I see it?" He asks her and she nods her head and pulls her onesie down a little bit to show him the mark "Yeah." Eva answers whilst doing it and she sees that Magnus gets a look on his face "What is it?" She asks looking up her best friend "I think I've seen it before." He says and walks over to a computer and now he's typing in something before pressing enter a couple of times continuously and Eva giggles watching him "You know that's not gonna make it any better, right?" Izzy tells him and he sighs "I don't know how you work with these machines all day. I could use some magic and a drink right now." He says and Eva is confused "what do you mean, use some magic? Did your magic hide?" She asks and Magnus just gives her a half smile "something like that my dear." He says and Izzy waits a moment before she asks Magnus for help "Magnus, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for a root that's native to L'Isle-Adam." She says and realisation clouds Magnus's face as she turns to look at the oldest Lightwood female "Are you still having cravings?" He asks her and she sighs shaking her head "no... well not exactly... We found a way to remove the Mark of Cain from Simon, but the process nearly killed him... So I made him feed on me." Izzy explains and Magnus looks at her shocked and Eva didn't really understand what was going on so she just hugged Bob tighter and swayed a little bit as she became tired "Isabelle... That's really brave of you." Magnus tells her and Izzy smiles before sighing "Would you happen to have any of that root?" She asks and Magnus's smile drops and he shakes his head "I don't. Without my magic, I can't Portal to France and dig some up for you. Perhaps I can ask another warlock to..." he gets cut off by Izzy who shakes her head instantly "No, it's okay. You know, I'm actually feeling a lot better now." She says and Magnus is silent for a minute before he nods and smirks "I should go find some traditional pen and paper to work with, do you want to come with me or stay with your sister my dear?" Magnus asks her and Eva hums as she thinks "stay with Izzy for a while." She says tiredly and Magnus nods quickly pecking her forehead before he leaves and Eva sees that Izzy is looking at her wrist and It's shaking, Eva doesn't know why Izzy's wrist would be shaking but it is... She watches as Izzy holds it still. Then a fire message flies into her hand and she reads it and lets out a shaky breath and puts the paper in her pocket before she goes to the computer keyboard as Alec enters the room and scoops up Eva pecking her cheek making Eva giggle and lean into Alec as he looks at Bob who's in Eva's arms for an explanation "she's sleepy." He says and Alec nods his head in understanding before he looks at his older younger sister "Dead end on the Morning Star case?" He asks and Izzy shakes her head "I'm still waiting to hear back from other weapons masters." She says and Alec looks at the profile of the man on the screen that Izzy was typing up "How is Sentry Greenlaw helping?" Alec asks looking at him and Izzy sighs and looks at her brother "There is something I need to tell you." She says and Izzy sits down at the desk, and Alec sits down across from her holding Eva in his lap as the toddler got more comfortable in her brothers arms feeling extremely safe being back in her Alec's arms. "You can tell me anything." He says gently rubbing Eva's back as she yawned and Bob smiled "Remember those rumors about the Downworld prisoners that were being tortured?" Izzy says trying to be a bit quieter because she didn't want Eva hearing so many horrible things even after everything she had been through already "Yeah, the ones Consul Penhallow categorically denied." Alec said nodding his head and Izzy sighed and continued what she was saying " Well, I contacted the guards that escorted the Seelie knight back to Idris, and one of them replied." She tells him and Alec nods understanding where this was going "Thomas Greenlaw?" He says and Izzy nods "He says he can tell me what's really going on at the Gard. And he wants to meet." She tells Alec who nods and takes in the information "When?" He asks and she sighs getting up "Tonight. I'm leaving now." She tells Alec who also gets up and nods his head " then I'm coming with you and I'm bringing Eva because there's no way I'm leaving her here, she isn't getting out of my sight." Alec says and Izzy nods as she goes to grab her whip and Alec goes to get Eva's blanket and wraps it around her and Bob as he also pulls up the hood of her panda onesie that she is wearing before he wraps the blanket around her and Bob and goes to get his bow and quiver and also a seraph blade then he meets izzy in the Ops Centre before they get ready and leave.
