I woke up in the morning to an empty bed. My heart instantly went into panic mode, trying to find Jimin.
I sat up, looking around. I called his name, but no reply. I got up quickly and looked into the bathroom, but he was not there either.
Where did he go?
Is he okay?
Did his dad find him?!A huge wave of relief washed over me as I ran downstairs and found him in the kitchen with my mom, sitting at the table. She was sitting opposite of him, going through some magazine, and he was just sitting silently, staring into the contents of the mug in his hands. Doesn't seem like they've been talking.
'There you are.' I spoke with so much relief, going over to him. He must have been deep in thought as the sound of my voice made him jump
'Hey.' He gave me a small smile, composing himself a bit
'Did you even sleep?' I ask him as I sit down next to him
'I tried.' He sighs a little. So, nope.
'Did you get any sleep?''A little. But I'm not the one you should be worried about.' I smile lightly
'You should know by now that I'll always worry when it comes to you.' He strokes my hair gently. My mom just kept going through the magazine pretending not to hear a word. Thank you, mom.
'So stubborn.' I tease him a bit. 'Let me see that.' I reach for his face, lightly turning it so I can take a look at his jaw and his lip. It was a blue/purple bruise, covering the left side of his jawline. But at least it wasn't swollen. He didn't even blink as I lightly touched it.
'Don't worry. I've been through a lot worse. I don't even feel it.' How can he even smile at this? And the fact he is telling the truth makes me want to cry. He's been through so much pain.
'Damn, Jimin. What the hell happened?!' Soo Ho didn't see him last night, but he just woke up and came down. And it's hard to miss Jimin's beaten-up face.
'Soo Ho-' I wanted to tell him to shut up, but Jimin cut me off
'You should see the other guy.' Jimin turned it into a joke, but even Soo Ho wasn't finding it funny
'It must be a damn superman if he landed a hit on you.'
'Nah. It was my bad. I didn't bother reacting on time. Did it to myself really.' He chuckles
'That must hurt like a bitch. Hold on.' Soo Ho goes over to the freezer and takes out a bag of frozen peas. 'Put this on for a bit. It should help.'
Jimin just chuckled, but he didn't wanna say no to him, so he took it and put it on his face. 'Thanks.'
'Did you stay here last night or...?'
'Yeah. I'm afraid I'll be here for a few days. Your parents said it's okay.' Jimin tells him
'Soo Ho, don't ask him much, please.' I tell him, pleading with him. He doesn't want to talk about this. He was just looking at me for a moment before nodding at me.
'I guess I'll just head out to work. I'll see you later then.' He patted Jimin on the shoulder as he left back upstairs
'You two hungry?' My mom asks, lifting her head from the magazine
'I'm alright, but thank you.' Jimin bows a little
'Jimin, dear, it wasn't a question. You haven't eaten anything since yesterday. You need to keep your strength up.'
'Please.' I squeeze his hand a little. He just smiled weakly, nodding lightly at me.
He didn't eat much, but it's better than nothing. I doubt he'd eat at all if I didn't ask.
'Anything you want to do today?' I ask him
'I just wanna stay in. I don't feel like going anywhere.'
'We can do that. Movie night or something.' I smile
'Can you choose a movie? Find a terrible one like the first one we ever watched.' He chuckles. I guess he needs something extremely stupid to make him laugh a bit
'Oh, I have those to throw around. You've come to the right place.' I grin at him
'He is in pain enough. Why do you put him through that?' My mom teases
'No, no, he asked for it. He secretly likes them, I'm telling you.' I joke back
'They grow on you. They're so stupid that I can't help but laugh.' He chuckles a bit
'I wish I could take them as that. I just can't stomach them. They are awful.' My mom sighs, making Jimin chuckle a bit again. Thank you, mom. Again.
-----
We decided to watch it with my family. Torture all of them and all that. We just had to wait for everyone to come home from work.
'Not this again. This is the worst possible one you could have found!' Soo Ho completions as he sees the movie choice I decided to go with
'Bloodsport is a culture. Don't diss it!' I warn him
'Of course. Jean Claude Van Damme. Of course, it would be muscles.' Jimin giggles, teasing me
'I'm happy my wife doesn't like these. I'd feel so insecure.' My dad jokes, making my mom and Jimin laugh
'They should make more of those where the main character is chubby or something. I don't think I know a single person that has abbs like those. That's just not human.' Soo Ho keeps complaining
'I know a few of them. You got one right here.' I giggle, nudging Jimin a bit
'Nah. Not a chance. Not like that.' Soo Ho protests, not believing me
'I mean...' I slap Jimin's tummy lightly, and it sounded like I hit a damn board. Jimin was just laughing at me, shaking his head. He is so used to me doing things like these to him by now. He doesn't seem to mind.
'Nah. Get up. Not a chance.' Soo Ho tells Jimin 'Get that thing up.' He points to his shirt
'I see you two really are siblings.' Jimin snorts, but he gets up, lifting his shirt
'Oh, fuck off!' Soo Ho gets up in frustration, doing a circle around the chair he was sitting on.
'Language, Soo Ho!' My mom tells him off
'You're saying that now. Look at this!' Soo Ho turns Jimin to my parents lifting his shirt. 'How?!'
'I can't imagine why my daughter would be dating you.' My dad snickers
'Soo Ho, leave the poor guy alone.' My mom throws a pillow at him. 'What did you expect from a national athlete? To be like you?' She scolds him
Jimin seemed to have found all of this quite funny. He sat back down next to me, finally relaxing a little since yesterday.
'How? I wanna do it.' Soo Ho asks Jimin
'Train every day for 2-3 hours, don't eat late at night and cut down on sugar. And do a ton of exercises, and get hit in the stomach every day. That seems to do the trick.' Jimin giggles. 'But you could have asked her. She's got abs herself.' Jimin gestures at me
'Pfft. I got two lines. You have an entire chocolate bar. Please.' I raise my hand to stop him from taking nonsense. I was so happy to see him smile and laugh.
