'Ready, baby?' Jimin lifts his hand, offering his pinky
'Ready.' I smile, wrapping it around his
We are both about to have our final fights, one after another. Same court.
It's been a year and a half since the last World Championship we had. Since then, we had so many things happen.
We moved in together as planned. Our parents were ecstatic and couldn't wait. We won Asia Championship two years in a row. Two nationals in a row. We also won grand slam last year, and now we are fighting for gold in this year's grand slam. We have World's in half a year, so not much rest at this time. But this is what we set out to do. It's been so damn tough, I'm not going to lie. The training was merciless, and Jimin had become an ultimate assassin. He was requested to test for doping after the last grand slam because they suspected him of drug use. Obviously, he gladly proved them wrong. It was a bit of a media mess until it cleared out.
Aside from that, a lot changed in the Team as well. Most of them are not with us anymore. Chen, IyeShi and JinWoo are the only ones left who haven't been replaced. It's just how it goes at times. Jimin and I, thankfully, kept our spots. We won everything there was to win so far, so it's not like they would replace us anyway.
But most importantly, Jimin and I are still striving to be at the Olympics one day, although, I'm hoping if not both, at least he goes. They would be crazy not to have him. And with everything he's been doing, he's become a huge name in the world of taekwondo. There's not a person that doesn't recognise him when he enters the arena. Even the coaches from other teams often come up to him to greet him. And he is still not used to people wanting his autographs. That will never not be hilarious.
But, trying to follow and keep up with him has brought me almost the same amount of attention. Considering we keep winning the same things, people in the sport know me as well. And no, I'm not used to autographs either. It's just weird. Always will be.
'Jimin, there are cameras everywhere.' I scold him a little as he pulled me to himself, giving me a soft kiss right next to the court. Every single judge and coach in the vacinity saw that. And every single person who's watching the stream.
'Aaand I give zero fucks.' He grins, all proud of himself. 'Now go, kick her ass.' He giggles
'You betcha.' I smile back
'Let's go, Rin.' Coach Ishijo calls me over
'KICK HER IN THE FACE BUBBLY!' Chen still sounds as loud as a damn siren. The entire arena can hear him
I gave him and the rest of the team thumbs-up as the coach was tieing my shield around me.
'Nervous?' Coach asks
'Nope.' I grin
'Of course. I don't know why I'm even asking at this point.' He laughs. 'Good luck. Do your thing.' Coach gave me a high-ten and sent me off to my fight
I fought this girl a few times in the last year. She is amazing, and always puts up a hella good fight. Seems she recognised me as well and is giving me a huge smile from the other side of the court. We started talking one day after one of our fights, and she is genuinely extremely friendly. She is Ukrainian, though, so communication is not the easiest thing. My broken English isn't helping either. Usually, I bring Jimin along so he translates
I smiled back at her before coming to meet her in the middle of the court. I know she is smiling now, but in about 20 seconds, she'll try to take off my head. She almost did it once. But I haven't lost to her yet, and I don't plan on doing that today either.
Tests and greetings are done.
'KICK HER ASS BABY!' Damn Jimin. He's right by the court so I can hear him even more. Along with every judge. But, the man told me to kick her ass, so that's what I'm going to do
