Day 4
Day 3 was fun. Sool and Hinhyuk finally got to fight. They both won their first fight. Hinhyuk was just excited to see his wife that he almost missed the fight. He almost fought coach Darby because he wasn't allowed to go to the fan's stands. He got his way in the end and ran to his wife the moment he saw her. That was adorable.
My second fight is happening today. I am so pumped. This is supposed to bring me a medal if I win. An Olympic. Fucking. Medal. But I will try to think of it as a normal fight. If I think about the medal, I'll keep myself too focused on that and mess myself up. And that can't happen.
We are already warmed up and dressed by the court.
Coach Darby let me see Jimin before my fight. As cold as he seemed in the beginning, he is actually very friendly and funny. Still a deadpan face, though.
'If you two are done flirting, it's time to move.'
Jimin and I were miming to each other, kind of having our own convo. He wished me luck and told me to kick her ass and have fun. I sent him a kiss before turning to coach.
'I'm all ready, coach. Let's win.'
He only snickered and sent me ahead of him and up the stairs.
'Rin Min. 24. South Korea. -47 kg. Blue corner.'
'Inika Yamaguchi. 23. Japan. -47 kg. Red corner.'
She is a bit taller, so I'll have to be careful.
Even though I've only been on this court once, I feel like I've been here a million times. But that's good. I feel relaxed.
Buzzer went off, and she went for my head. She missed, but she sure tried again. I have a feeling that this is all she'll be going for this fight.
But that's more than okay. I get a free shield target. She only got to my head once, while I got her 3 times in the first round.
Round two came faster than I expected. I didn't pay attention to the timer at all. I gotta be careful not to fall behind.
Or not.
The board says I'm leading by 5 points, so I just gotta keep at it.
As expected, she kept attacking my head as soon as we got into the round. Fine. Let's kick you on your ass.
I faked a run-in because the last 3 times I attacked, she went in. Just as I'd hoped, she ran in and sat on my back-kick perfectly, falling on her ass. Her grunt was muffled by my scream as I felt the kick land. That felt damn good.
It also felt fucking amazing hearing Jimin screaming from the stands. I swear this guy carries a microphone with him.
*Buzzer*
This woman is tiring as heck. She is relentless with the head attacks. But I didn't get here expecting an easy one.
'You are doing amazing. That back-kick was perfect. Lay her down again if you can. Also, do me a favour. Go for the clinch.' He smirks
Ahhh, bubblegum kick. Got it.
'Yes, coach.' I chuckle
I took a quick glance at the stands to see Jimin waving with both arms. Seeing him cheer me on so hard makes me wanna work so much harder.
I got to the middle of the court and took a look at the board on my way there. 18-13 for me. Still damn good. Let's keep it up.
Aaand there she goes. Head attack. This one, I jumped to the side, going for her head myself. I guess she didn't expect it as it actually landed on her head.
