Before we knew it, February came along. We were supposed to go to the centre in a few days to start our training with coach Ishijo before we were sent to the Olympic Centre. There is only 5 months left until the games, and it still feels like a dream. Neither one of us can believe it. Maybe because we currently have crazier things going on.
Ae Mi's water broke, and she's slowly going into labour. It only happened about an hour ago, but it seems that her contractions are getting stronger and stronger.
She's been taken to the hospital where Jimin and I are just headed. Soo Ho called us as soon as he got there himself.
'I don't know why I feel nervous. It's not like it's my kid.' Jimin chuckles as he's trying to find a parking in front of the hospital
I laughed a little, seeing how he was actually a bit nervous and jittery. 'Well, you are about to become an uncle.'
'I never thought I'd be an uncle.' He was all giggles
'You're going to be the coolest uncle ever.' I smile at him
'You think so?' He parked but was sitting still, looking at me with the biggest grin as he was gripping the steering wheel
'I know so.' I smile at him. 'That kid is going to love you.'
'I really hope so.' He wouldn't stop smiling. 'Let's go see my little nephew or niece.'
He pretty much ran in the hospital, dragging me along. We asked at the reception for the room, and then he ran even faster once we got the info. It was kind of hilarious. You would think he was about to give birth.
'Are we late?! Is the baby here yet?!' Jimin pretty much yelled at my parents who were sitting in front of the room waiting
'Oh, Jimin, my son.' My dad welcomed him with the biggest smile and a hug. 'No, they're still in there. Soo Ho is with her. They'll let us know as soon as she gives-'
A piercing screech stopped him from giving his answer, and that was enough to let us know as to what was going on.
'I think you're just in time.' My mom smiles
Jimin looked petrified hearing the screaming coming from the room behind. I think he might have been too excited to think about the fact that giving birth hurts like hell.
'Are you okay?' My dad chuckles, patting him on the shoulder
'Yes, yes. It just sounds awfully painful. I feel bad because of all the pain you women have to go through.' Jimin shudders, making my mom snicker a bit
'It's all worth it.' My mom smiles at him
Another loud scream, probably the loudest and longest one yet, rang down the hall, making everyone freeze for a moment.
Jimin grabbed my hand tightly, looking like he's not even breathing. To be honest, we were all anticipating.
A few minutes passed before Soo Ho emerged from the room, crying with happiness.
'It's a girl.'
It's almost like a switch had been turned on, and everyone started crying and hugging each other. Jimin was laughing through his tears, hugging me so tightly I could barely breathe.
'I'll be back soon.' Soo Ho disappeared back into the room, leaving us to be a mess and a half
'I'm.. I'm a grandad!' My dad was crying, rubbing his eyes
'And I've got a niece.' Jimin was crying just the same
My mom and I didn't know who to hug, but it seemed we didn't need to do a thing as the two of them hugged each other and kept on crying.
