I barely slept last night. I couldn't get any sleep with how nervous and jittery I was. Jimin was with me most of the night, holding me and talking about our first tournament and how scared he was. He also kept telling me how much he loves me and how excited he is to watch his girl fight at the Olympics. I truly don't know what I'd do without him.
Thanks to him, I'm feeling a lot more calm. I'm afraid that I'll be scared once I get to the fight, but until then, I think I'll be okay.
*knock knock*
I zipped up my uniform and grabbed my bag from my bed that's been sitting there since 4 in the morning. I must have checked it over 6 times to make sure that I don't forget a thing, even though I've never forgotten a single thing since I've been competing.
'Morning gorgeous.' Jimin gave me his beautiful smile as I opened the door
'Hiya.' I ran into his arms, hugging him tightly
'Feeling ready, my little sniffly?' He teases. Of course he knows that I'm sniffing him
'I'm okay. A little nervous, but mostly excited. I hope I don't get scared later. But this helps.' I pressed myself as close as I could to him
'Can I have a hug, too? I'm scared, too.' Imanu came out of the room, joining the hug by hugging me fun behind. She squished me between her and Jimin
Jimin just sighed. 'Doesn't seem like you gave us a choice.' He would not let her join if she didn't seem so scared. She had been shitting bricks for a week now
'Damn, Park. Picking up all the women.' Wonhu teased him once he came out of the room and saw him with us
'Can you give me a hand and comfort that one there? I've got one on my own.' Jimin teases back, gesturing at Imanu
'I was never good with comforting people, but good luck.' He snickered and patted Jimin on his shoulder as he passed him by
'I'm good now.' Imanu pulled away, then ran down the hall
'I can't wait to leave this place. She is batshit crazy.' Jimin sighs
'I think I've got bigger issues than her right now.' I chuckle
He gently held my face, looking into my eyes. 'Are you scared? He asked in a soothing tone, just wanting me to be honest
'A little. But you helped.' I smile
'I'll be right there the entire time, baby. I'm not leaving for a moment. I promise.' He hugged me tightly, kissing the top of my head
'Then I'll be more than okay. I giggle. 'Let's go. I need to beat someone up on national TV.'
'Ah, there she is. I got scared for a second.' He giggled as he took my bag from me, putting it over his shoulder, then taking my hand. 'Let's go.'
It was almost alien being inside of this big arena. It was not much different than our usual taekwondo tournament arena, apart from this little detail where there was only one court. One. Single. Court. In the middle of the arena. The court is surrounded by cameras that will be live streaming the fights. There are a lot of people currently on it, setting up the tables and screens and such. Most of it is there, but it looks like they're testing them.
But right now, we are heading for the weighing first.
We walked into a bit room, where we got separated into genders for weighing. The guys were taken into the room on the right, while all the women were taken into the left one.
We were told to strip down to our underwear and line up, then we got called to the weigh one by one. I never had any issues with my weight, but right now, I'm afraid I'll have about 5kg too much. It's just the weight of these games.
