'Is everyone ready?'
Every single athlete and the coach in the facility had gathered. We are about to go to the opening of the Olympics Games.
I can't even believe I'm saying it.
We were given official uniforms to wear to the games, with our names printed on our backs, along with the sport and the country we represent.
The uniforms are tracksuits in white colour, with black and gold ornaments on the sleeves to match the lettering on the back.
It is crazy to see so many people dressed the same, but it is also extremely amazing.
'Each team, go with your coach!'
The 6 of us followed after coaches Kim and Darby as they led us to a little van outside the facility.
'I'm so excited.' Jimin was grinning from ear to ear, holding mt hand firmly. If I wasn't holding him, he might have started skipping.
Looking away from him will be a task. He is breathtaking. This uniform looks like it was made for him. His angelic face and his silverish hair make him look more like a model than an athlete. And that damn smile... My God... he is astounding.
'Rin?' He shook my hand a bit to wake me up. 'What is it?'
'I'm sorry. I kind of got lost looking at you.' I admit and avert the gaze as I felt my cheeks burn a little
He smiled as wide as he could, almost giggling with happiness. 'You can look at me when we're in the van. Come on.'
Everyone was excited about this. Everyone wanted to see the openings. Imanu was way too hyper. At the moment, she completely forgot about the fact that we have to fight starting tomorrow. The rest of the guys followed suit, getting all excited.
As for my fear... I am okay. At the moment. After talking to Jimin, he truly helped me and calmed me down. He believes in me, so I have to believe in me, too. I will just do what I always do. So, instead of worrying, I am going to enjoy every moment of this. Starting with the opening.
It seemed like we were driving for hours, although it was about 35 minutes. We had to go through multiple security points where we got stopped and had to give them our credentials. All understandable.
By the time we got to our spots, I thought I'd lose my hand. Jimin hadn't let go for even a moment, and he kept squeezing it every time he was something exciting. Which was every 15 seconds.
It felt like millions of people were here.
They drove us down some long path surrounded by the stands and the seats on both sides. It looked like something out of the hunger games where they were parading the tributes on the horse carriages. It was massive and loud. Filled to the brim with people wearing their country flags and shirts. A lot of kids. Truly, everything.
When we finally got to our positions, we were put alongside all the other taekwondo fighters. There were quite a few of them. I saw a few of them in the centre, but I didn't know they were here for taekwondo. They separated everyone by country and such, so we didn't train together. But they are dressed the same, so it's cool.
There were about 40 of us fighters lined up in the first row. It sounds a lot, but when you think it's only 40 from the entire world and only about 6 categories in both male and female, it's not so much.
Looking around, there were so many athletes from all the sports and such. This year, there are 3000 athletes competing at the Olympics across all sports. 3000 out of 7 billion. And we are one of them. Unreal.
