Hinhyuk won his fight, too, getting himself a silver medal. His wife was bawling in the audience as he ran over to her the first chance he got. She almost fell over the fence, trying not to let him go. I fully understand her.
Coach Darby waited a bit before calling him back. He is actually so soft, which I never saw coming. But he truly tries to take care of all of us the best way he can.
'Let's get through these now, and then rest.'
We had our interviews once after another, and they got to me first. I didn't feel like it was on my own as Jimin and Hinhyuk were right behind me, and the coach was next to me. At least this time, I had a Korean interviewer, so I didn't need the translating.
'Welcome, miss Min. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us.'
'Of course.' I smile. I just need to be polite and answer the questions, so I'm out of here ASAP
'You secured yourself a silver medal at the Olympic games. Can you tell us how you're feeling?'
'I'm slowly starting to realize that this is truly happening, so I'm all over the place. But mostly, I'm ecstatic and excited.' I smiled as brightly as I could
'Are you confident enough to say that you will be taking home the gold, and if you don't, will you be satisfied with what you've done so far?' That's a shit question
'Everyone dreams of taking gold, but I can't say that I'm positive that I'll take it. Everyone here is a world-class fighter. Any of us could take it. If it's not me, then so be it. Even if not, I'm more than satisfied with everything I've accomplished. Just coming here is enough. I'll do my best and hope for the best, but I'll be happy nonetheless.'
'So inspirational.' The lady smiles. 'There are two more fighters from Korea who earned silver medals today, much like you did. Do you believe in them?'
'Absolutely. They are body outstanding fighters. I think we've all witnessed what they can do. What's there to doubt?'
'One of the fighters, if we are not wrong, is your other half.' That wasn't even a question. That was more of a statement.
'That is true.' I smile proudly
'There have been countless videos of the interactions between the two of you. Is it embarrassing to show your relationship so openly at the games?' Okay, what the fuck? Whoever made these questions is a dick. I looked at Jimin and he was grimacing a little. Of course he can hear. He's 3 feet away.
'Could we focus on their fighting, please?" Coach Darby interveened, but I stopped him
'It's alright.' I smiled at him. He looked at me for a few moments before nodding lightly
'It is not embarrassing at all. I am quite proud, in fact. That is not something I'd wish to hide. He is an incredible athlete and an even more amazing person. Anyone who knows him would say the same. So, being here with him and cheering him on, it means more to me than fighting.' I was annoyed, but I kept a smile. A fake one, but a smile
'Beautifully said, miss Min. You have a lot of fans as a couple, too.' She's really dragging this out
'I'm happy that we are being so supported, but our main focus here is fighting. And that's what we came here to do.'
'Again, well said.' She smiles. 'In that case, we will make sure to cheer you on until the end and be proud no matter what. Thank you once again for talking to us, and good luck to you.'
'Thank you.'
I had such an urge to roll my eyes at her, but I contained myself. I hope they get better questions.
