I know that it's summer and all, but why is it that today, Wednesday is so damn hot?! It's the hottest day of this season.
Seriously, the weather is so steamy, hot, and tense. It's so hot that classes and activities have been canceled for the day.

I and the gang were all laying on the floor of Frankie's dorm room, trying to cool ourselves off. But it just feels like we're just sweating into his carpet. It's not smart, we know, but our brains are overheated to think.

"I'm ice cream," Franklin said from laying on top of his bed. It's probably not the best place to cool off, in my opinion. "I'm melting in this heat, I'm dying in this misery."

"Shut up, Franklin, we're all dying in this misery!!" Daytona snapped at him, annoyed by his whining. After yesterday at Junaid's apartment, things are still strained between the two of them. So the girls, me, Kevin, and Ryan, are just trying to keep the peace in our friendship.

We're not gonna step in the middle of whatever is going on between Daytona and Franklin unless they let us. And we'll be there for both of them, but we're not gonna still sides with either one of them.

Before the awkwardness could continue further, David, Charlotte, and Ryan walked into the room. All of their clothes were all sweaty and claggy, "Mother Nature is trying to kill us."

We all mumbled in agreement with that statement, too hot to form proper sentences. When David was about to close the door behind him, only then we all screamed, "Leave it open!!!"

"Did you guys open up all of the windows?" Charlie asked before sitting down on the floor. Fanning her face with her hand while David and Ryan sat with their backs against Frankie's bed, "This room is so stuffy."

"Both this room and the bathroom windows are open," Kevin whined, drinking the last little water he had in his bottle. All of our water bottles were empty, which made us even hotter and thirty.

That's when my phone started ringing. Without checking who was calling, I answered without realizing that I'd put the call on speaker, "Hello."

"Cuzzie, where are you?" Haylie's voice echoed through the room casually. Everyone was too hot to form a proper greeting for her, so they stayed quiet.

"Melting on campus with my friends who are turning into ice cream with me," I said, catching Frankie's fist bump for my answer. It may have sounded stupid before, but that's exactly how everyone's feeling at this point.

Until we got this shock wave when this high pitch sound ringed through the phone, "Great, Cameron and I are on our way to Venice Beach. Bring your friends and that sexy bikini that I got you, and we'll have a great time."

Slowly, I sat up straight with this small, excited smile, now holding my phone, "Can I invite Taylen too?"

I still remember that talk with Taylen about his crash on Haylie and wanting to tell her. And how I would help him if she's back in LA. This day at the beach might be the perfect time for him to finally have that special, intimate moment with my cousin.

"Yeah, oh my gosh, cuz," Hailey excluded excitedly, sounding like she was flying on the clouds. That's a good sign, "I was just about to ask you to invite him. I haven't seen him in a while, and I wanna see him before Cameron and I leave again."

"Awesome, I'll let him know," I said, already typing to him. Then I heard Cameron's voice saying, "I miss my homeboy. He better not say he's busy. Or I'm gonna drop at his Dad's shop and bust his ass."

Both Haylie and I know that Cameron and Taylen have this kind of bromance that they've had over the years. So, hearing him saying that isn't surprising to us.
