"Hey guys," I greeted Nico and Brittany, who were both behind the bar. Cleaning glasses while doing the bar's books.
The bar wasn't full today, which is surprising, considering that today's Saturday, it just became noon, and there's a big football match around three. Usually, at this time, you would have to almost hunt for a good parking spot close to the door. Not today, apparently.
Both of them smile happily and excitedly towards me, "You're ready to kick that kangaroo's butt today?"
Referring to the dance battle between me and David today. Swag Crew has been informed of it since we first thought of it, and the fans are all for it. Deciding who's going to win and who's gonna kill it during the battle.
We've also decided to put a poll up on the Crew's Instagram story where the fans can vote what music that they want to see us dance on. And it's been wide lists of different types of music.
Taking the offered water bottle from Brittany with a grateful smile, "I'm ready, but I've got to be mindful of David's improvements and growth."
And that's the highest compliment that I had ever given to any newbies. David, as Boomer's dancing skills have taken to great length. He was a good dancer before, but now he has become so skillful that he might even be able to take on other battles with other dance crews.
Neco nodded in agreement before saying, "Yeah, the guy sure is a good dancer. He might even become the crew's next leader after Steve steps down."
Now, that would be something. It's not a common thought that everyone thinks about every day, but it is for today. David, as Swag Crew's leader, a newbie becomes leader. Wonder if Jaxon would prefer someone else take his brother's role or himself?
"That's never gonna happen." Brittany scoffed coldly with her tone covered in pride. Still holding a grudge towards her Australian ex-boyfriend for breaking her heart. And treating David almost the same way. "He's nothing, but a little boy who's about to get humble by Swag Crew's Dancing Queen."
Softly chuckling at the compliment, enjoying the praises and little shade towards my opponent, "I swear Brittany, you sound just like my -"
Stopping myself from finishing the sentence with one name. One name that I haven't spoken of since last night. Quickly thinking and keeping my smile, "Like Johnny. He always bet on his favorite team, winning any match before the game starts. Sometimes, he's right. Other times, he's not. You know the saying, don't bet on the best horse before he races."
Both Neco and Brittany raised their eyebrows at the saying, "I've never heard that saying before."
"I don't think that's the right saying." Neco said, thinking about the saying too much. Both of them were too focused on what I've said instead of the point that I was making.
Deciding to leave them to think of every saying that they know. Holding the watter bottle a little bit too hard as I lifted the elevator's door up. My mind was filling up too fast with so many thoughts that it felt like it might pop.
Being so whipped around in everything that has happened during this week that I didn't notice the screaming of insults. A couple of sarcastic, snapping words were thrown back.
Nice to see these two getting along nowadays. Softly chuckling at the sarcasm that dripped from that thought. I'm pretty sure that these two might never reach the bridge of friendship any time soon.
Then, within a second, I'm staring at a big smile and green eyes in front of me, "Hello Ariel."
Greeting him with a smile before stepping back as David closes the door for us. Clicking the floor before stepping beside me. We stayed quiet for a minute before he asked, "How are you today?"
