Charlotte's POV:

Fourteen days. Jennifer has been dating a complete stranger for fourteen days. And hasn't given us anything about the guy.
Telling us that they don't want their relationship to be public. Saying that they're still in the 'getting to know' each other phase and don't want to rush things.

Yeah, right.

Listen, I trust Jennifer, I  really do. And know that she can take care of herself, but she doesn't have a great track record of dating. No offense.
Plus, no one even knows who this guy is, where he's from, and what he really wants from her.
None of us would want to see her get hurt again. Don't want her heart to get broken again.

The girls and I have been trying nearly everything in the book to figure out who the mystery guy is. Tried finding his identity with the little info that has been provided for us.

Every single social media page had no record of him. The university's office was no use either. It's like this guy is made of air or something.

Which left us with one option, ask around. We asked Kevin, Rachel, Billy, Jasmine, aka DJ Jazzy, and everyone in Sapphire if they knew anything. The results were poor.

"Seriously?" Daytona said frustrated as we walked out of the studio where some of them were rehearsaling. "No one knows anything about this guy?"

"They don't even know that Jennifer is seeing someone." Janelle said baffled, just like most of us. Are we really struggling this much to find out a guy's identity?!

Penny scoffed after taking off the phone with Rebecca, "Can you really be surprised? Jennifer is like a bank save for secrets. She won't tell anyone about whatever unless she wants to."

"Guessing that no one in her family knows anything, right?" It's clear that they don't know anything. Because if they had, Payton would have been doing her over the top happy dance.

Nodding her head with irritation written over her face, "They have no clue who their sister and daughter is seeing. Or knew that she was even dating someone and were serious about the person."

"Maybe we can ask some of the people on her classes again." Janelle suggested, sounding tired, which is understandable.

"We've already asked nearly every single person who takes her classes and got nothing out of it." Daytona reminded us hopelessly. Sounding even more tired as this carries on.

And none of us could blame her. Every one of us was feeling mentally drained with all of this.

Sighing before lifting my shoulders up as I opened the glass door, "Then we head to the field."

Halfway walking out of Building B, Penny and I turned around to find Janelle and Daytona standing a gap behind us. Looking out of confusion before asking, "Girls, you're coming?"

They had this look that's between drained and puzzle, "Guys, is all of this even worth it?"

"What do you mean, Janelle?" Penny asked gently, trying her best to keep her frustration from pouring onto anyone. Not wanting to hurt anyone on purpose. "Of course, it's worth it. We'll finally find out who Jennifer is dating."

Daytona nodded her head, but her expression hadn't changed, "We get that. But let's face the facts we haven't gotten any answers, and we're pretty much going behind Jennifer's back about this."

"Because she won't tell us anything." Saying that with a little bit of bite through her teeth. One thing you must know about Penny is that she hates riddles. Never liked them, and nothing could ever change that. "Look, we don't like doing it, but it's the only way we'll actually get answers."
