I'm pretty sure that I didn't get enough sleep from my nap after reading at least five chapters before falling asleep. Reasons why I think so, is because while driving back home with Dad, I fell asleep in the front seat and only to wake up when we pulled up in the driveway.
"How was your nap, sweetie?" Dad asked after switching the engine off. As I watched my Dad, I notice how he has gotten grey over the years, he still had some dark brown hair.
And is grateful that he won't have to worry about losing any of them at the age of sixty.Which I thought would be the last thing for a man at the age of fifty three yo worry about. But then again, Dad isn't like any other men in the world.
Climbing out of the car right as Dad had one leg out of the car, nodding my head for the question,
"Yeah Dad, I slept alright, just had a really long, busy day today."I yawned as I stretched my arms, enjoying the cool early evening air that gently below pass by. I would have stayed in the clothes that I was sleeping in since I was lazy to change at the time. But Peyton practically force me to play dress up just for a dinner with my family.
In my family, we would have a special dinner either at the beginning or the end of each month. Where Andy, Rebecca and their families would join us and it would only be us than the rest of the family as a whole.
It's kinda like having a family night, where we would enjoy home cooked meals that Mom has made for us over the years. Then we would either end the night off with games and many other things.
Dad would play his guitar as Becca and I sing some songs or take some family pictures with Dad's famous desserts. This was something that Mom has thought of as a way to bound and visit each other more. Than waiting on birthdays, special holiday traps, Christmas or New Year's to have a dinner like this.
Although it's the fourth week of May, Dad decided that we should have the dinner after I got settled in at KAU. Penny made me bath three hours early from my evening one.
Before making me wear an army crop top with a pair of jeans, a black and white baseball shirt with 'Flawless 81' printed on unbutton. Along with black and white check Vans with a rose on top of both shoes.Standing beside the passenger's door, gawking at my home which hasn't lost its beauty or wonder for so many long years.
Dark greyish blue and white paint still looks freshly painted, a small rose garden that has stunning red, pink, yellow and white ones. Dressed behind a dark green wall bush while having a perch where Mom and Dad would sit together enjoying each other's company in silence reading. This place that has five bedrooms and three bathrooms with a basement was my home. And will always be as long as I live.
I would have started walking away from Dad's car, if it weren't for the pair of arms that wrapped themselves around my waist from behind.Lifting me up before spinning me in a circle on the lawn, "Wow, you have only been gone from home at least a night and a day just to come back. Is student life too much for you already, Felicie?"
My stomach was paining for this monkey's reaction of seeing me again. As I was laughing so hard in the circle, although he knew about the dinner a long time ago,
"Raymond, you egghead, put me down!!" My best friend and next door neighbour since kinder garden finally put me back on the ground, so that we could give each other a big hug. Raymond Benjamin Burton has been living next door to me for as long as I can remember and our friendship is something very close to my heart.
There is truly no one else that I could call a real friend than Raymond and that says a lot. "And where does the name 'Felicie' comes from? Have you been babysitting your cousins today?"
