As our lips lightly touch, a wave of heat and passion moved through my body and the air surrounding us. And it felt like that was about to be this large explosion to be set off. Until. . .
"Hey, cuz, are you in here?" The door opens curiosily and gently as Haylie steps into the room. My eyes widened before I quickly turned around to see her shock expression, quickly saying, "Sorry, I didn't see anything, I'll just be in my room."
Once the door was closed, I tuned back to David, who was also looking at the door. Looking down at me with the same expression as I had before, we both started chuckling.
"Did you see her face?" David said, causing us to laugh even harder. Unable to contain ourselves as the intense and fast-paced emotions started quiet down. Letting our playfulness and cheerful out, "Hailey looked like she just saw a ghost."
Nodding my head, it's the first time that I've ever seen her face turn so bleak before. Slowly, the laughing started dying out until we were back in the previous silence.
And it felt so good and comfortable, as if the atmosphere before was too tense. Although it didn't feel like that to me.
Staring at each other light-heartedly with some desires still lingering. Letting us know that it was still there, burning, longing to resume on what had happened. The voice at the back of my mind definitely wants to resume what we started.
But instead, we didn't. David took the shirt that I gave him, pulling it over his head, "You might have to check on Haylie, make sure that she's alright."
"What about before she came into the room?" I couldn't stop myself from asking, genuinely wanting to know. Almost feeling responsible that we got interpreted by my cousin.
Only getting a sweet, rare smile from him, "I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not in a rush."
That made me feel a little bit better, not realizing that I felt a little pressure. Smiling back at him before standing on my toes to kiss his cheek again, "Sweet dreams, David."
Softly scoffing before leaning down to kiss my cheek. For the first time, my skin paid close attention to his lips' touch, their warmth, and the electric current that moved through, "Sweet dreams, Ariel."
Slowly backing away after he lifted his head, my body did not want to leave the room. But I still walked out of the room, smiling at David before closing the door.
Walking through the penthouse with the biggest and wholehearted smile ever. Feeling like I was walking on clouds underneath my feet and slept with the same feeling and smile.
When I opened my eyes the next morning, I was wishing that it was night. Not only so, I could be with David and kiss him like I wanted to. But also that I don't have to bear having my nosy cousin nagging on my head endlessly.
"Come on, Jenna, just tell me one detail," Haylie said for the eighth time. She has been at it since last night, wanna me to spill the beans about what happened. But I've decided to keep it all to myself. "I wanna know. I'm your cousin."
Rolling my eyes at her while trying to hide my smile that gave my game away, "Nothing happened last night."
"The more you say that, the more I don't believe you." Sitting at the kitchen counter, smiling at her effects, which was really cute. I'm still covering my plate with some yummy breakfast that she made.
"I mean, I made you French toast for breakfast. Isn't that enough for an answer?"
That's when the front door opened, and Cameron walked through, "Good morning, ladies. I'm here for the bacon and - ohh, French toast!!"
