Chapter6: Movie night

Once I got back to my dorm room, I jumped into a much-needed shower for an hour before getting myself ready for a job interview at 12.
Yes, I had a bursary from KAU for my sport and high marks which will cover my payment for my dorm room and textbooks.

But there wouldn't be much left for myself like my brothers and sister had explained to me.
So, I will be working part-time for myself and all my other needs.

The interview is for a waiter's position at this coffee shop called Ladybug Coffee Café which is basically a fifteen-minute walk from the dorm building.

I stared at my phone to see that it was 11:15 and I still had my towel wrapped around my body, because for the very first time in the last seventeen years, I couldn't decide on what to wear.

Time was against me and I had no time wasting on picking clothes which led to me becoming frustrated and more nervous about the interview.

Groaning in irritation with myself for being nervous that I didn't even notice Peyton, Daytona, or Janelle walking into the room, "Whoa girl, how about we take a deep breath before you turn green and smash our room."

I gave Penny a soft smile, grateful that she was trying to lighten my mood, "Sorry Penny, I'm just beyond my nervous point and for some reason I can't find anything to wear."

Daytona and Janelle sat down on Peyton's bed after greeting me with a hug from both of them. Not minding getting a bit wet, because mine had a large mountain of clothes from my closet on top of my bed.

Daytona knitted her eyebrows at me before asking, "Why couldn't you just call us and ask for help?"

I shrugged my shoulders, feeling shy all of a sudden, "I kinda don't like asking for help, I always like doing things on my own which is stupid I know. But I'm not used to asking for help to get dressed up."

"Well, right now you need help clearly, and help you're gonna get." Janelle stood next to Peyton who had been going through my clothes since walking into the room.

Both Peyton and Janelle were showing each other shirts, jeans, and jackets that they either thought would look cute on me or not.

After asking me where I would be going and my reasons behind it before asked Daytona to fix my hair which she blew out and made light curls using Peyton's hairspray.

Once my hair was done, I was shoved back into our room's bathroom with the clothes that Peyton and Janelle picked for me.

Ten minutes later, I was dressed in a black skinny wearing an army green long sleeve top, my dark blue leather jacket with my black and yellow Dr Martens.

Quickly got everything that I needed for my interview inside the bag that I was taking with and Penny refused to let me take a quick walk to Ladybug.

So she, Janelle, and Daytona drove me to my soon-to-be job if everything goes well for me, "And don't worry about walking back, we're staying right here."

I couldn't stop the smile that covered my face, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I could ever find such great friends who would help me with the small dress crisis that I was having as well as give me a ride to this interview.

It just felt unreal for me in so many ways right now, "Thanks girls, really, this is just amazing. I don't even know how to thank you guys for today."

"Well, we can have a movie night in your dorm room as a way of saying thank you." Daytona sweetly said which I had some feeling that she would have asked if I wasn't stressed in the first place.
Janelle petted her eyes after saying, "And although Penny had that she's down for it, we wouldn't have done anything until you were in too."
