David's POV
After hearing the love story of Ryan and Peyton's relationship, him and I went back to our dorm room with a stolen kiss from his girl. The guy looked like there was a spring in his step which I couldn't blame him, because I've seen this new change happen to many people before.
When Derick met Maddie, he was smiling nearly every single hour of the month. Finding someone special changes a person in ways that you would never imagine they could.
"So, you're gonna tell me what we're actually doing here?" My mate asked for the third time during our walk from the Dorm Building till the soccer field. After he had showered and dressed, all I told him was to grab his team's T-shirt and come with me for a team meeting without Ariel.
Rolling my eyes for the third time, I must have repeated myself so many times that I don't have to think about it anymore, "We're having a team meeting in the locker room."
"Yeah, but why isn't Jennie allowed to join us?" Finally asking a different question than repeating the first one over and over again. Like a small child asking his daddy how everything works, despite the fact that the questions he was asking were yesterday's questions. "This is a team meeting after all, and Jennie is part of the team. You're not falling back on your word, are you?"
The seriousness in that last question is the one that Ryan wants a damn good answer to and doesn't want to hear any crap that isn't true. We were only a couple of steps away from entering the locker room where some of the other guys were walking into, luckily they're out of ear reach before I answered, "I'm not going back on my word. All I'm gonna say is that this meeting is about Ariel and is very important."
That must have been good enough to shut Ryan up, because all he done was raised his eyebrows and nodded his head in understanding. When we finally walked into the room, everyone were lowering their voices while whispering to themselves, wondering and asking around if anyone knew what this meeting is about?
Uncle Richie was standing by the drawing board where he draws up and explain game plans to us before and during our matches. Nodding his head in greeting before clapping mine and Ryan's hands, before asking in a low voice, "You're gonna take the lead in this one?"
Shrugging my shoulders playfully before saying with a smirk, "Well, it's my meeting, so I guess I'll take the lead on this one, Uncle."
Raising his eyebrow at me, not liking my joke very much, although it wasn't meant to be a good one. I used to make these kind of jokes back to when I stopped being serious on being the team's Captain and not caring much about what happens to them.
But after everything that has happened, that fire inside of me has been ignited with a new spark and fresher wood. So I stood up straighter with a more serious expression before saying, "I'm leading this meeting, Uncle Richard."
That answer satisfied him by how he nodded his head as his expression lighten up slowly. Then his eyes turned to my left shoulder, eyebrows crossed together in confusion, "You brought your shirt with?"
My team T-shirt was hanging over my shoulder, knowing that it won't be right if I came to this meeting without mine. Carson wouldn't have done that, if this meeting was his call, he would never have come empty handed, no matter if he was team Captain or not.
Not really knowing how to put that thought into words for Uncle Richie and Ryan without choking or tripping over my words, so a stiff nod was the best answer to give. Then my throat tighten up by the thought before clearing it and my mind, speaking with no sign of those sudden emotions in my voice, "It's gonna be used as an example later."
