The sun glared in through the slightly opened window, you groaned and rolled over to face away from the light. It was Sunday so there was no reason to get out of bed early, the kicking at your thighs reminded you that your son was in your bed too. He had climbed into your bed in the middle of the night because it was "cold" in his room, he was nestled between you and Simon, you were sure he wasn't at all cold with you two sharing body heat with him. "Domonic, you're kicking me," you mumbled, moving his soft brown hair off of his forehead and placing a kiss on it. "You got too close." He looked up at you, a pout on his face. What an attitude for a 6-year-old. "You're right, my bad for getting into your bed" You laughed, moving him closer to you. You loved when you woke up to the love of your life...and Simon. "It's ok" he smiled, moving out of your grip and going back to his dad, Simon's arm immediately holding him close, it made you jealous. "Wow, I see how it is. You want your dad to cuddle with you but not me. Breaking my heart baby." You frowned at the smirk on Simon's face. Your little boy had a chokehold on his heart since the day he was born, let's just say they were inseparable.
You put a few pop tarts into the toaster, and made yourself a cup of coffee. It was 10:20 am, a very later start to your day than your usual 5 am. Simon had made the decision that after your son was fully off of needing his mother around he would stay home and care for your child. It was very surprising to you but you agreed to it and got a job a few months after he stopped being dependent on you.
Simon walked into the kitchen with Domonic held up on his hip, supported by his arm on his back. "What do you want buddy?" He opened the fridge, waiting for the boy to point at something he wanted. "Honey, let him down. You don't need to baby him all the time" You smiled, sipping on your coffee as the two stood there. "But he is still a baby, it was like yesterday he was just learning how to walk." Simon frowned, taking the bag of apple slices out of the fridge and handing them to the boy. "Gosh, Simon...you spoil him so much you know. I feel like you should go back to work rather than spend all day with him." The look on Simon's face was one of shock, you knew he knew you were right but he wasn't going to admit it. "I do not spoil him." He scoffed and placed the boy down, holding his hand and walking into the living room, Domonic munching on the apple slices as he just followed.
You rolled your eyes, sitting down at the dinner table and opening your laptop. Making a lesson plan for Simon to go off while you were at work. You had begged your husband not to enroll Domonic in public school, all the things you went through, and how dangerous it was now to send children to school. It scared you to death. You didn't want anything to happen to your only child so you homeschooled him. You were planning on doing this till he was 14, then you would allow him to go to a private high school, one that was close by where you worked. "Really? How much do you want him to learn tomorrow?" Simon muttered, he wasn't fond of teaching because it made Domonic stressed and that would lead to him crying. That was something you needed to work on with him. "Yes darling, I want to make sure we cover what the schools cover. I'll teach him English when I get home from work tomorrow. I don't want him using your British slang." you giggled, looking up at him with a smile on your face, sticking your tongue out at him.
"Insulting my slang, save that for when Johnny comes over. I saved you from having to hear our kid repeat his dumb slang."
"I'm ok with Scottish slang. Just not your British ones"
