"Why did you get them those pens. Their drawing on their walls, I just painted those walls."
Simon groaned, leaning against the wall, you could tell he was stressed out. Maybe it was from all his hard work going down the drain, maybe just maybe.
"Sorry honey, you know how I can barely say no to their cute little faces and either way, you need a little color in your life."
You smiled, thinking back to when you were in target, your twins both holding a pack of glitter pens and begging you to let them get it. You could barely say no to Simon, how could you say no to his cute spawns of pure evil.
"Yeah because you spoil them rotten, no shit you can't say no to them. You're painting their room. I'm not doing that again."
"Simon, come on. Is this how you treat your wife?"
He sighed, his hand rubbing the back of his neck.
"I just hate having to paint their walls over and over again. They don't know how to use paper."
You shrugged, walking over to him and patting his chest. Maybe you could think of something.

You dragged your twins by their hands thought the arts and crafts store, heading straight to the paint section.
"Maddie, stop pulling your sister's hair."
You forced her hand out of her sisters hair, picking her up so they both wouldn't fight.
It wasn't long before you had to get a cart, placing one child in the seat and the other in the actual cart basket.
They both were such a pain in the ass most of the time, making you wish you could shove them back where they came from and start over.
You picked up a 5 gallon bucket of chalkboard paint. You would need to do touch ups every now and then if you wanted to paint the portions of wall they were able to reach and color on.
One time off the list.

You helped both your girls out of the car, you didn't hold their hands this time, they were getting tired so they didn't fight each other at all.
"Okay babes, go get a box of chalk. Don't spend years here, your mom's getting old."
They both ran ahead of you, going straight to the toy isle.
"okay.. nevermind, we're going to be here for ages."

You opened the front door, the little girls running in with their new toys, a bunch of little animal figurines and maybe a few containers of putty.
"Daddy!"
They say in union, running up to Simon and latching into his legs.
"Hi babies."
He leaned down, ruffling both of the girls short blond hair. A smile on his face, a smile not even you get out of him, that smile only his children could bring to his face.
"Look daddy! Look!"
Maddie giggled, holding up the fox figurine in her hand.
"Look! Look what I got!"
Makayla held up her pig figurine.
"Very nice, their very cool."
He looked towards you, his eyes widening at the sight of 3 bags in your hand, a bucket of paint in your other. You gave him a nervous smile, making your way to the garage. You would deal with the lecture of spoiling you kids later.
"How much did you girls...make your mamma buy?"
"oh! We got a lot!"
"Yeah!"
Simon looked down at the girls, a soft sigh leaving his mouth. He really didn't want his kids to be spoiled rotten, such a trait he didn't want his kids to hold.
"You both have to stop asking your mom for stuff. You both know you're taking advantage of her."
