"Oh shit! They found the truck" Kiara curses as the Twinkie nears the scene of the accident we left behind, now crawling with cops.

"Chill, chill, chill, chill" Pope warns us.

"Of course" JJ scoffs.

"All right, just relax. Just relax" John B chants.

"Well, lookee here" Sheriff Shoupe declares, the van pulling up next to him

"Good evening, Officer" John B greets the man.

"Sheriff" Shoupe corrects.

"Sheriff. Yeah, that's right" John B nods "Speed kills, huh?"

"I pulled the tags, and I know whose truck that is" Shoupe says matter of factly before shining his torch right in Kiara and I's face from where we're sat on the floor "Hey! Kie, you drop your weed pen back there?"

"Found it" Kiara smiles awkwardly, sitting up straight.

"Sheriff, I just wanna say that this is all my fault. She had nothing to do with this. I take 100% responsibility" Pope speaks up, taking the wrap for the crash.

"Nothing to do with it? Uh-huh. You wanna try that again?" Shoupe questions rhetorically before looking at Kiara "Your parents reported the truck missing four hours ago, and the keys were missing from the house. I'm taking you home. Or I can pull you all in for leaving the scene of an accident"

"Okay" Kiara agrees to go.

"Good. Plumb" Shoupe orders the officer who opens the van door.

"Yeah. I gotta deal" Kiara sighs softly, getting out the vehicle "Hit me up later and make sure I'm still alive"

I pull myself to my feet, grabbing my jacket and getting out the van to stand with Kiara who looks at me funny.

"What are you doing?" She questions me.

"Saving your ass" I wink at her, turning back to the others "I'll text you guys"

The Pogues all nod at us and JJ leans out the passenger seat window, grabbing a hold of my shoulder to pull me back. I turn my head to face him and he presses a kiss to my lips, smiling at me softly.

"Be careful" I warn him.

"Yes, ma'am" He grins.

I leave his side and jog over to where Shoupe is ushering Kiara into the back of his car.

"Go back to your friends, Sylvie" The Sheriff warns me.

"I'm spending the night at Kiara's, so I need to go with her" I argue with him.

"I'm sure she won't be allowed to have anyone staying after this" Shoupe counters but I dont give up.
