"Do you guys wanna play War?" Wheezie speaks up from the room I'm sat in with her, Sarah and Rose.

"You brought cards?" Sarah asks, perking up.

"Mmhm" Wheezie nods happily.

"Yeah" Sarah agrees to a card game.

"I'll go grab them" Wheezie grins, jumping out her seat and exiting the room to go get her cards.

"Oh God" I hear my twin groan as she stands up and I finally move my gaze from the table in front of me to see Sarah stumble into the cabinet, making Rose gasp.

"Oh, Sarah. Hey. Hey, what's wrong, sweetie?" Rose asks worriedly.

"I just think I'm gonna be seasick" Sarah says in a pained voice.

"Oh" Rose chirps, putting down her magazine and getting up "Here. I have just the thing"

"Meds?" Sarah questions.

"Sarah, seriously, that was for your own good, and you know it killed me to do that" Rose retorts in irritation.

"I was just gonna ask for nondrowsy" Sarah explains.

"We're all together. Just chill, Sarah. This is a good thing" Rose tells her, heading into the bathroom "Where was it? I know it's in here somewhere. Ugh. I have just the thing. I just saw it"

Sarah immediately uses Roses distraction as an advantage and gestures for me to follow her as she sneaks to the door, but I shake my head. She pleads to me with her eyes but I'm to exhausted from crying, my head pounding and chest aching with hopelessness. I shake my head again and she frowns deeply, disappearing down the hallway.

"Where did Sarah go?" Rose comes out off the bathroom holding a box of sickness pills.

"She went to lay down. Told me to tell you she doesn't want the meds anymore" I lie to my step mother "But if you've got something for pain, that would be appreciated"

"Yeah, I've got something for that" Rose sighs, heading back into the bathroom.

The woman takes only a minute or two before she exits the bathroom and sits down opposite me, sliding the meds across the table to me.

"Be careful though, sweetie. Those are really strong" She warns me, sliding a glass of water to me too.

"Thank God for that" I mutter, uncapping the orange bottle.

I swallow a couple pills and decide to pocket the bottle for later, laying back against the sofa.

"Everything is going to be fine, Sylvie. Stop worrying so much" Rose advises me, picking up her magazine again.

Using the woman's distraction to my advantage, I swallow a few more pills and lay down, curling up on the uncomfortable cushions. I let my eyes flutter closed and I feel my pain starting to fade just as my consciousness does the same.
