Context: they're friends but still aren't 100% (it's been a month since 'mr kitty's room.)
(I'd like to clarify that when I write backrooms stuff, the way I write the levels won't be 100% accurate to the actual level. I see lots of different versions of the exact same level. I need to take creative liberty.)
3rd person
Austin and Eteled were walking quietly through the yellow hallway, hand in hand.
They had agreed to hold each others hands, purely for the sake of if one got no-clipped, they both would so they wouldn't get separated.
(-At least that's what they told themselves-)
As they reached the end, there was one small room, with three slides built into the walls.
One was grass green, one was ocean blue and the other was fiery red. The green one had "Jump in!" Written to the side. The blue one had question marks scattered around it. The red one had "DO NOT ENTER." Scribbled in bold.
Eteleds pov
I looked at the three slides with confusion, but mostly caution.
"Which one do we go down?" I asked. Austin didn't respond. "Austin?"
"Give me a minute to think." He growled suddenly, letting go of my hand."Okay, jeez. Sorry for asking." I mumbled to myself.
"Is it really THAT HARD to give me just TWO SECONDS to THINK?" He questioned angrily."It wasn't about needing to think about it, it's about you being a dick about it!" I retaliated.
"Mhm, cool. You done?" He asked sarcastically."Okay. What is up with you all of a sudden?! One minute you're fine, next minute you're being an ass??" I cocked an eyebrow, staring daggers at him.
"I'm not-!" He let out a frustrated noise. Then he went quiet. I figured I should stop talking too.
It was almost dead silent in there if it weren't for the sound of my own heartbeat and breathing.
I thought about it more and the more I did the more I began to realise how hard I was on him. I sighed quietly.
"Sorry. I'm just.. kinda on edge. But that's not your fault so.. sorry for kinda being a dick." I leaned against the wall, sliding down it.
He stayed quiet for a moment, keeping his back to me.
"It's fine." I could hear a slight tremble in his voice, but I figured it was just a voice crack. "Sorry for snapping.""It's fine. Have you figured out which one we should go through yet?" I asked.
"No. Which one do you think?" He replied.
"I'd go with the green one." I answered."Really? I was thinking the red one." He responded.
"Why?? That seems like the most dangerous one!" I reasoned."Yeah, it seems the most dangerous. But what if it's reverse psychology?" He mentioned.
"I don't think a sadistic set of rooms knows what reverse psychology is." I explained. He looked over to the slides quietly. "But if you think that's the right one, I'll take your word for it."
He looked away, practically staring down the three slides like a disappointed dad looking down at his kids after a cop caught them vandalising.
"I don't know." He whispered to himself. The only reason I was able to even hear him was because there was no background noise.
"It's alright. We don't have to decide right away." I assured. He huffed, turning towards me.
"But what if I do?! What if out of nowhere one of those fucking.. THINGS comes CHARGING DOWN THE HALL?! WE DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON HERE! WE DONT KNOW WHERE, WHEN, OR WHY THEY SPAWN!" He screamed suddenly, gesturing his arms around frantically as he spoke.
He bawled up his fists, turning away from me.
"I just-" His voice broke. He cleared his throat, swallowing thickly. "I need to figure it out, quickly.""We can figure it out together, okay? You don't have to figure everything out, Y'know." I assured.
"I know, I know." He sighed, slumping slightly."If it makes you feel better, I could pick." I resorted. He nodded slightly.
"Yeah. At least if the result is shit, I can blame you for it." He laughed softly. I rolled my eyes jokingly."I think.." I pause in thought. "The blue one."
"You sure?" He inquired.
"There's literally no way I could be sure, Austin. Plus if it's bad we can probably just climb back up." He hummed in response."If you say so." He said, walking over to the slide."You going down first or should I?"
"Well I figured we could go together in case of no-clipping or if it's one of those two-way slides." I explained."So how are we gonna do that? You going in-front or behind?" He questioned.
"I'll go in-front." I responded, hopping in and keeping myself still by grabbing the top of the slide. He hopped in as-well, pressing himself up behind me.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I chuckled softly, reluctantly letting go of the top of the slide. He pushed us forward with his hands, sending is sliding into a dark abyss.
