I had been sitting in the office for nearly thirty minutes when Professor Sprout, and Professor McGonagall entered, both looking extremely upset.
"Punching a student!" Said Professor McGonagall, looking sternly at me.
"To be fair, he actually deserv—"
"Deserved it? How?" Professor Sprout asked incredulously, turning to me for an explanation.
I looked down from the stares I was receiving. "He Just Said some rude things, that's all."
"Well, I'll have to talk to him. You have detention in Professor Snape's for two weeks at seven," Professor McGonagall said, leaving the office.
Professor Sprout turned to me. "I don't want anything like that happening again. I'll have Wyatt move to a different table, and you can sit with Mazzy Tills. You are excused from the rest of the class. Now scoot before I change my mind."
Not wasting a second, I picked up my bag and left the office.
I made my way up the tower, and sat on the ledge, watching and listening as birds flew by and the wind whistles past, leaning my head back.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
I turned my head to the side to see the boy from Herbology, and smiled, turning back toward the view as he approached the railing.
We sat in silence until the boy spoke. "I'm Jacob Rosewood."
"Giselle," I said, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you. Call me Zell."
"That was an epic punch you threw at Pierce, Zell."
I laughed lightly. "Too bad it got me detention."
"Ugh," Jacob groaned. "You shouldn't have to get detention for him. Pierce... bloody hell, I can't even begin to say..."
"Yeah," I scoffed, running my eyes. "We... we dates last year. I broke up with him when I found out he was cheating on me while I was being tortured. Snarky comments don't help."
"I bet," Jacob said, climbing onto the railing and sitting across from me. "You know, Polly Tooker and I dated too. She cheated on me last year, too, and I just... ended it. I couldn't deal with it anymore."
My heart stopped and I looked at him in disbelief.
"Polly Tooker?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"That's... that's who he cheated on me with."
Jacob looked at me, and I could see the hurt in his eyes. "I can't believe..."
I looked over at him, pulling him out of his thoughts. "I'm sorry about that. Wyatt's such a prat. I would throw him off this tower if I could."
Jacob smiled sadly. "You and me both."
