𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧
I expected to sleep because fo how tired I was, but at one point I was shaken awake, and nearly screamed when I saw my dad standing over me.
"What the hell?!" I hissed
"Shh!" He said, and I looked up to see Jacob coming down the stairs to the Gryffindor Common Room with a Look of horror on his face.
"Shit," I said, rubbing my eyes.
"You— You're Sirius Black?" Jacob asked hoarsely, struggling for his wand. "What— huh?"
He took out his wand but I ran over to him and covered his mouth before he could yell for help.
"Stay quiet, Jacob!" I hissed. "I need you to, please. His life depends on it."
I slowly took my hand away and he stood agape at my father.
I turned back to my dad and looked at him with wide eyes. "How the bloody hell did you get in here?"
"Whats going on?" Jacob asked suddenly, rubbing his eyes as if he as checking if Sirius was really there
"Shh!" My dad said, turning to Jacob."Not I'm portent right now. I'm here to kill Pettgrew."
"What?" I asked. "You dont have to-- Crookshanks ate him."
"We'll go check in Ron's dorm, then," Jacob said, starting to get up.
"No!" My dad cried. "You can't --I cant have you snooping there! It was close enough last time you helped me."
Jacob looked at me in disbelief "Last time?!"
"I'll go check myself," My dad said, ignoring his surprise. "Then I'll leave. I have an escape plan ready."
"Dad no--"
"Stay here Giselle," He said. "It'll be fine. I just wanted to say hello.'
He smiled at me and pressed a soft kiss on my forehead before heading into the boys dormitory.
Jacob was still looking at me in disbelief when my dad passed him up the stairs, and came to sit next to me. "What did he mean last time?"
I sighed, rubbing my face. "We don't have much time to talk about this, Jacob, but when he broke in last time. I stayed back to help him."
He looked at me, eyes wide. "What?! You promised me you had nothing to do with that! I thought—"
"You Are not a part of my life anymore!" I yelled, my temples throbbing."I wanted you and I cried for you and I hated you," I said, my lip trembling. "And I hated you because... because I would've chosen you no matter what. But Wyatt had to go and mess it all up. He took that away from me."
Jacob closed his eyes and sighed, opening his mouth to speak. "We both made mistakes."
"Yes we did."
He hesitated, and looked at me. "I did. I- I hurt you."
"But see," I sniffed, looking at him with sad eyes. "I still loved you."
He looked at me, and I looked down. "And I was so so wrong to say those rude things to you. I-I was, and still am, at a rough point in my life and I'm struggling. You eased that pain. I need you, Jacob. I love... I love you."
He put a soft hand on my cheek and brushed my hair behind my ear. "I love you too, Giselle, and I want to continue this relationship with you, if you'll let me."
We were interrupted by a loud piercing sceam, and my dad sprinted back downstairs, an with a quick wink at me, bolted out of the room.
I heard yelling from Harry's dormitory, and just then, all the boys ran downstairs, and the other students began to pile into the Gryffindor Common Room, all sleepy and confused.
"What happened?" Percy asked briskly.
"Perce-- Sirius Black!" Ron cried. "In our dormitory! Woke me up! With a knife!"
The entire Common Room went silent and I shot and uncertain look at Jacob.
"Nonsense!" Percy said. "You had too much to eat, Ron! You must've had a nightmare--"
"Im telling you--"
McGonagall then burst in, her arms crossed at the sight of us.
"I am pleased Gryffindor won the match but this is getting ridiculous!" She said. "Percy, I expected better of you!"
"I certainly didnt authorize this, Professor!" Percy said. "I was just telling them all to go back to bed! My brother Ron here had a nightmare--"
"IT WASNT A NIGHTMARE!" Ron bellowed. "PROFFESOR I WOKE UP AND SIRIUS BLACK WAS STANDING OVER ME HOLDING A KNIFE!"
McGonagall stared at him.
"Don't be ridiculous, Weasley, how could he possibly have gotten through the portrait hole?"
"Ask Sir Cadogan!" Ron said, pointing a shaky finger at the portait hole.
Apparently very irritated, McGonagall pushed the portrait hole open.
"Sir Cadogan, did you just let a man enter Gryffindor Tower?" She asked.
"Certainly, good lady!" Sir Cadogan replied.
Everyone went quiet.
"You- you did?" McGonagall gasped.
"But- but the password!"
"He had 'em!" Sir Cadogan said happily.
"Had the whole week's, my lady! Read 'em off a little piece of paper!"
McGonagall turned to us, white as chalk.
"Which person," she asked, her voice shaking with fury, "which abysmally foolish person wrote down this week's passwords and left them lying around?"
When Neville Longbottom slowly raised his hand, I felt my heart drop.
