"So your scar hurt over the summer and you told EVERYONE except me?" Hermione demanded, holding Sirius' letter in her hands. My owl had dropped it onto my plate at breakfast, and recognizing Sirius' writing I'd torn it open only to find out that Harry had owled him awhile back to tell him about a strange dream and pain in his lightning bolt shaped scar. I gave it to Hermione to read, and she did not seem happy.

"I didn't want to worry you," Harry said. "And- and now Sirius is worried so... maybe I just imagined it."

"You don't just IMAGINE pain," Hermione said. "You felt some sort of pain and chose to keep it to yourself- Harry I want to know these things!"

"Well fine, whatever, I felt pain," Harry said. "But I am telling Sirius I imagined it."

"He won't fall for that," I snorted, looking up see Ron look at me with a look that said 'drop it.'

"Well he's not going to go back to Azkaban because of me," Harry said. "So as far as l'm concerned, I imagined it."

We headed to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Moody was going to put the Imperius Curse on us to see if we could resist.

"Dumbledore wants you to be taught what it feels like. Trust me, you'll want to know what it feels like rather than learn the hard way— when someone's putting it on you to control you completely."

We all nodded in agreement, although we all looked worried.

I felt more nervous as Moody started putting the curse on other students. He made Alice Runcorn imitate a monkey, which was very funny to Katie until she ended up pirouetting all over the place. It took Isa a while to get induced, which was a good sign according to Moody. So far Isa was the only one to succeed.

"You need to try harder," Moody growled as Leanne, Katie's best friend, stepped off the desk she'd been dancing on in shame. "Only Miss Thompsom has shown any signs of trying to resist the curse. Be stronger! Black, come over here."

I walked up to his desk, putting my hands in my pockets.

"Imperio!" He said.

I felt something inside me— a certain sharp pain in my abdomen. Then suddenly it disappeared, and I looked up at Moody expectantly.

"Well?" He inquired.

"What am I supposed to do?" I asked.

The entire class was staring at me, and Isa was smiling to herself.

"You didn't hear instructions in your head?" He asked. "No voice telling you what to do?"

"Nope," I said. "I felt pain in my abdomen then... nothing."

Moody's lips curled into a smile. "Very, very interesting. "Perhaps when the Dark Lord trained your uncle as bait, you inherited the ability to control the Imperius Curse against you..."

I stared at him, then Isa.

"You may sit down, Miss Black."

From there I headed over to Transfiguration. Fred and George were sitting together in their usual seat in the back row. In front of them was an empty seat, and the seat next to it was Cedric.

I cursed under my breath, and my cheeks reddened when I realized George was staring intently at me from last nights conversation. I rubbed my face and put my head down on the desk, making Cedric furrow his eyebrows.

"What are the odds?" He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "We're partners again..."

I looked up at him as he examined a bird, trying to turn it into a goblet.
