An Inconvenient Attachment // Appledash

After the girls had concocted a plan to defeat The Dazzlings on the steps leading up to Canterlot, they headed to Pinkie Pie's house for a sleepover, sheltering Twilight as she had nowhere else to stay. On the way over, Sunset reflected on the embarrassing declaration they made at the party for the bands in the gym after they left the cafe in a pointless attempt to extract the dazzling magic. It was good they were able to come up with the theory of drafting them through song form at their performance in the competition because she doubted whatever holding-hands-friendship-is-magic stuff they pulled was going to work if they tried again. 

Once they'd gotten settled down and changed into more comfortable clothes, they split off into smaller groups in Pinkie's bedroom to relax. Twilight sat on Fluttershy's bed using a borrowed notebook to work on the counterspell, complimenting Flutters songwriting skills when she peeked a look at the page. Sunset and Rarity were sitting on the floor together watching something on Rarity's phone with Pinkie and Fluttershy a few feet away, the host typing away on her laptop and the other hugging a reptile plush she found in the room. 

Sitting at the end of the bed, Applejack challenged Rainbow to a video game they found on Pinkie's console. Rainbow tried to ignore the request and began to move and sit with Fluttershy when AJ's hand grabbed her arm and pulled her to the ground. 

"C'mon Dash, just one game." She pleaded, shoving a remote into her girl's hands. 

Huffed and annoyed at the persistent traitor, she unwillingly agreed but purely just because she liked games and knew she'd wipe AJ clean easily. "Fine..."

Beating Applejack as she presumed, she relaxed back onto the bed end and fixed her hunched-over posture, spinning the remote on her pointer finger like it was a basketball, another sport she was good at, and directed her attention to Twilight, after completing the 'one game' she agreed to. 

"So Twilight, How's that counter spell coming?" She questioned, reaching an arm back to rest on top of the sheets and angled her neck to see her.

 "Huh? Oh uhhh good! Great!..." She muttered unsure which gained a comforting reaction from Rarity as she came to join Twilight on the bed, reassuring her she could do it and that all of them wouldn't know what they'd do without her help. 

'She's good at comforting people, it makes sense why AJ likes her too.' Rainbow thought, glancing at Applejack with some deflated sadness in her eyes. Noticing Applejack was looking at the two girls on the bed and had dropped her remote on the ground, RD snatched it up and held it above her head, instantly drawing Applejack's attention back to her. Reactions of her trying to take it back were dramaticised as she leaned forward reaching for it, only causing Rainbow to lean back further so it wouldn't end up back in the girl's hold. The harder AJ tried to take it from her, the more complicated Dash made it, moving the remote around so it was always just out of reach whenever Applejack would adjust her attack to try and take it back. Rainbow laughed at her inability to coordinate in time with her reflexes, immediately noting when AJ was going to change tactics again. Applejack was slowly getting fed up with her antics and did the only thing she could think of to take back her remote. She placed her hands on Rainbow's shoulders and tackled her to the ground, positioned directly above her the same way she was on top of Rarity the night she betrayed Rainbow. Catching the teasing girl off guard, her strength let go and AJ's push was met with no resistance. She reached her hand up to grab the remote as Dash's hand wrapped around it landed above her head. Pinning Rainbow's wrist to the ground, she surrendered and let go of the controller, an immediate shocked blush spreading across her face followed by a squirming to get away from Applejack's dominating force. Escaping from under Applejack's arm that had pinned her down, she let the remote go and allowed AJ to sit up victorious. Rainbow's plan was originally meant to just joke around and make AJ annoyed, but it quickly turned into something she was trying to avoid, yet couldn't help but desire. Thankfully before she could give it any extra thought, the doorbell rang, notifying each girl that the pizza they had ordered, arrived.
