"AJ can you help me with these?" Dash called across the gym as she lugged boxes of new decorations into the room. The others were at the dress store already choosing their outfits. Dash and AJ didn't care much about what they were going to wear and told Rarity to find them something nice. They were going to head over there after they grab the rest of the decorations. Applejack immediately rushed over to help her, tucking a box under one of her arms and picking up another three effortlessly in her other hand.

Dash gradually picked up the last box, amazed at how easily she carried them. Rainbow had forgotten how strong AJ was because of all the work and chores she did on the farm. When Dash used to go over to her house all the time, she would sometimes watch AJ do farmwork around the house and the barn. Rainbow offered to help but Applejack refused and said she could do it herself. Dash didn't want to do work anyway, but she at least had to offer to be a good girlfriend.

Rainbow with her singular box slowly followed the muscular girl across the gym and told herself to look away from admiring the strength of her ex girlfriend. The gym lighting wasn't helping, it accentuated her muscles making Dash stare more. There was just some force that AJ had over her that she couldn't resist. They reached the other side of the gym and Applejack placed the boxes down on the table with ease, turning to face a staring Rainbow looking at her. AJ whipped around immediately somewhat embarrassed. A warm red filled her cheeks, thoughts racing through her head about why she was even embarrassed, she was the one that caught Dash looking. Through her embrassement, she suddenly felt something overcome her, a need, a possibility, an opportunity. The blush that settled across her face dissipated and a grin grew upon her equally pink lips, unbeknown to decisions forming in her mind. She spun back around again, arms crossed over her chest and impulsively made a flirty comment,

"Like what you see huh Dash?"

~~

When Applejack caught Rainbow staring at her, Dash immediately looked away in any attempt to cover up what she was doing, and also worried that if she continued to stare, she'd have to fight urges she hadn't felt in the longest time...

AJs comment made it Rainbows turn to flush red. She didn't expect this from Applejack, not in a million years. AJ, flirting? No she must have meant it as a joke, purely a joke, nothing flirtatious... Dash told herself, still taken aback by her remark. She did not know how to respond.

"Sh...Shut up-" Dash muttered mockingly, trying to sound more confident and unFluttershylike.

Applejack had the affect on her she had hoped, caught her off guard...it allowed her to further pursue.

"It's okay to stare, I know i'm hard to resist...especially to you."

Rainbows eyed widened, what the heck was going on. She hadn't seen Applejack like this...well, ever? But...she kind of liked it.

AJ couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. Acting flirty was normally way out of her range and was Rainbows waters, she never stepped near it. But something was different now. She still hadn't completely forgiven Dash for the Spitfire coffeehouse encounter, but she did apologise...and she most definitely did miss Dash for the time they were apart. She never got the chance to act this way around Rainbow and it was incredibly out of character for her. Maybe for once, she let her intrusive thoughts win.

"I...I- AJ, why are you acting like this..." Rainbow asked confused, slowly backing into the table. It's like there was some pull over her only AJ could control. Normally Dash was the one doing the flirting and teasing, but this new side of Applejack made her knees weak and her thoughts scattered. She felt her body hit the table. With nowhere to go, she spread her hands out behind her trying to act cool and chilled, unlike how she felt.

"We don't ever find time to be alone anymore." Applejack whispered, slowly moving closer to the questioning girl who's face was closer to a shade of red than its usual blue. She placed a hand on the table behind Dash and leaned over her, body pressing into the others slightly. Rainbows breath quickened. Their faces were so close, but they wouldn't...would they?

"Yeah..." Dash whispered back softly, eyes darting from AJs eyes to her lips and back again. What. Is. Happening.

Applejack felt like she couldn't stop herself. As if a whole other person, a person who could tease, a person who could flirt, a person who could make others sweat in longing, possessed her. She didn't even realise how close they were until her rational thoughts fighting the seduction ones won. They could hear eachothers unsteady breathing and desperation for touch. AJ leaned in closer and Rainbows breathing halted, 'no...'

Applejack shook her head, ridding her mind of the anticipation that enthralled her mind in that moment and pulled away.

"We should get to the dress store, they're probably waiting for us." AJ said, removing her hand from the table that was pinning Dash and beginning to step away.

Rainbow lingered for a moment, absorbing what just happened and returning to the present moment. What DID happen? Why was AJ so desperate in one moment, and completely ignorant in the other? Are we going to talk about it? Will we just pretend nothing happened?

"Okay." Dash squeaked, barely above a whisper. She was still in shock, no proper sounds would come out of her. She slowly removed her hands from the table behind her, feeling properly weak for the first time in years. Not even the most tiring soccer practices have made her legs this unstable. Did they almost kiss...? Did she want to kiss her? Are there still feelings there...? Does she-

Applejack spoke again.

"Let's go then."
