During a friendly match against Birmingham, The Hypower Eleven were leading by 2 points. Uno was instructing his players on the formation of their attack and defense against Birmingham, while Denise couldn't help but steal glances at him, reminiscing about their past "date." She sighed, feeling defeated in her attempts to win Uno's heart.
However, as the whistle blew to resume play, Denise seized the moment to speak to Uno. "Uno, I need to tell you something in a little bit, okay? Don't immediately run off, got that?" she said, hoping to finally express her feelings to her captain.
"Yes, Ma'am," Uno replied confidently, focused on the match.
As the game progressed, Uno received the ball and attempted to penetrate Birmingham's defense. But an unexpected side tackle left Uno writhing in pain on the ground. Denise quickly called for Lance, and together they helped Uno off the field.
Feeling battered and vulnerable, Uno contemplated his performance, unaware of Denise's concern. Sensing his distress, Denise made a decision. "Lance, tell Coach to swap me out as well," she instructed, determined to tend to Uno's wounds.
"Why though?" Lance inquired.
"I need to take care of our captain," Denise replied, gesturing towards Uno's injured ankle and leg.
With Uno and Denise sidelined, they headed to the locker room. Denise knew it was time to confess her feelings.
"Uno, I have to tell you something, and please listen," Denise began, her voice trembling slightly. "Since we met and went on that 'date' a few months back, I've realized how much you mean to me. And even though you rejected me before the match against Southampton, it didn't change my feelings for you. You're an amazing captain, a stunning tactician, and a fantastic person. I really like you, Uno. Not just as my captain and friend—I want you to be my captain in life."
Uno stood there, stunned. "Denise... I don't know what to say. I never realized..."
Denise interrupted, "It's okay if you don't feel the same way. I just needed to get it off my chest."
But before she could finish, Uno stepped forward and gently cupped her face, his eyes filled with emotion. "Denise, you have no idea how long I've wanted to do this." He leaned in and kissed her, a soft yet passionate kiss that left both of them breathless.
As they pulled away, Denise looked at him with wide eyes. "Is this really happening? Do you really like me?"
"Why of course," Uno said with a cheeky grin. "I've always wanted you by my side, ever since that match against the White Star Torpedoes. You were determined to destroy them not only for the team's sake but for me. You wanted me to see the Denise who can fight for the win and the one who would win my heart. Plus, I could kinda tell you were jealous of Southampton's female captain flirting with me."
Denise blushed deeply. "You silly fox. So, what now?"
"I think we should surprise them at training. So, Denise, will you be my girlfriend?" Uno asked, his eyes sparkling.
"Oh my God. Yes, yes, a million times yes!" Denise exclaimed, throwing her arms around him.
"I'm glad to hear that, my dear," Uno responded tenderly, kissing her again.
Unbeknownst to them, Uno's fifth right-hand man, Meric, had walked in to grab his training coat and accidentally witnessed their intimate moment. Deciding not to spoil the secret, he quietly exited, leaving them alone.
"So, do you want something, Uno?" Denise asked, her voice playful.
"Yeah, you," Uno replied with a laugh, making Denise blush.
