After the London Academy friendly, Hypower had decided to just relax, study and train.
During one of the days of their break, everybody was in the classroom where they are currently in the Science Lab.
"So, if you build a wind turbine, you will be able to make electricity a little bit more greener than using nuclear power. So, any questions?" Their science teacher asked. Everybody just stared at the board with a bored and tired expression and decided to not speak.
Uno, in his regular black suit and blue tie, passed a note over to Denise. 'Team Breifing after lunch. - Uno'
Denise glanced at the note, her yellow eyes meeting Uno's blue ones briefly before she nodded. She tucked the note into her pocket and turned her attention back to the front of the classroom. The science teacher continued his lecture, but the words seemed to blend into the background noise as the students' minds wandered elsewhere.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class and the start of lunch. The room buzzed with the sound of students packing their bags and chatting with each other. Denise caught up with Uno as they walked towards the cafeteria.
"What's the briefing about?" she asked, keeping her voice low.
Uno adjusted his tie, a habit he picked up whenever he was thinking. "Just some strategies and plans for the next matches. Even though we're on break, we need to stay sharp."
Denise nodded. "Got it. Where should we meet?"
"Let's use the usual spot," Uno replied. "The old football field. It’s quiet and away from everyone else."
After lunch, the Hypower team gathered at the old football field, a secluded area that had become their unofficial meeting spot. The grass was slightly overgrown, and the goalposts were rusty, but it had a nostalgic charm that made it perfect for their team discussions.
"Alright, everyone," Uno began, looking around at his teammates. "I know we’re supposed to be on break, but we can’t afford to slack off. We need to stay focused and prepared."
Meric raised his hand. "Are we going to do any actual training today, or is this just a strategy session?"
"A bit of both," Uno replied. "We’ll go over some plays and then do some light drills. But first, let’s talk about our last match. What went well and what didn’t?"
"Well, our defense was solid," Kate said, leaning against a goalpost. "But our passing could definitely use some work."
"Yeah, we need to work on our communication too," Matt added. "There were a few times where we weren’t on the same page."
Uno nodded. "Good points. Denise, you had some ideas about improving our passing game, right?"
Denise stepped forward, holding a notepad. "Yes. I’ve been thinking about some new drills we can incorporate to improve our passing accuracy and speed. It’s important that we not only pass accurately but also anticipate each other’s moves better."
"Let’s hear them," Maury said, crossing his arms.
Denise explained the drills she had in mind, using the notepad to illustrate her points. The team listened attentively, nodding in agreement as she spoke.
After the strategy session, the team moved on to the field to practice the new drills. The sun was shining, and the sound of their laughter and shouts filled the air as they worked together, determined to improve.
As the practice came to an end, Uno gathered the team once more. "Great work today, everyone. Let’s keep this momentum going. We’re a strong team, and if we stay focused, we can achieve anything."
"Agreed," Lance said, clapping Uno on the shoulder. "And don’t forget to have some fun too. We’re in this together."
The team dispersed, heading back to their respective activities. Uno and Denise walked side by side, discussing the next steps for the team.
"You did great today," Uno said, smiling at Denise.
"Thanks," she replied, returning his smile. "So did you. We make a good team, don’t we?"
"Yeah, we do," Uno agreed. "And we’ll only get better from here."
As they walked away from the old football field, the future seemed bright for Hypower, their bond stronger than ever, ready to face any challenge that came their way.
As the team regrouped at Hypower's training grounds, excitement buzzed through the air. The facility, with its well-maintained field and modern equipment, was a stark contrast to the old football field they often used for meetings.
"Alright, everyone," Uno called out, gathering the team in a circle. "Today, we're going to work on developing our hissatsu moves and tactics. These are going to be our secret weapons in the upcoming matches."
"Let's start with some individual moves," Uno suggested. "Then we'll move on to combo tactics."
Denise stood by his side, flipping through her notepad. "Uno and I have been working on a new combo move. We’re calling it Cosmic Blizzard."
The team murmured in interest, and Uno stepped forward. "Denise, are you ready to demonstrate?"
Denise blushed slightly but nodded. "Y-yes, let's do it."
They positioned themselves on the field, and Uno started explaining. "The idea is to combine our strengths. Denise's precision and my power."
Denise focused, trying to push aside her nervousness. "Uno will create a strong, fast-moving ice ball, and I'll use my speed to guide it and add a spin. Together, it should create an unstoppable shot."
Uno gave her a reassuring smile. "Ready?"
"Ready," she replied, her heart racing.
Uno kicked the ball with immense power, and as it sped towards Denise, she ran to meet it, adding a spin with her foot. The ball glowed with a frosty aura as it zoomed towards the goal, leaving a trail of shimmering ice behind it. The team watched in awe as the ball hit the net with a powerful burst, causing a small flurry of snow to explode in the air.
"Wow, that was amazing!" Avva exclaimed, clapping.
"Impressive," Lance agreed, nodding his head.
Denise walked back to the group, her cheeks flushed. Jada, Avva, Kate, and Zoey immediately swarmed around her, giggling and teasing.
"Looks like someone's got a special connection with the captain," Jada teased, winking.
"Yeah, you two make quite the team," Avva added, nudging Denise playfully.
"Your face is as red as a tomato, Denise," Zoey laughed.
Denise stammered, "I-it's just the heat from running around!"
Kate smirked. "Sure, Denise. Sure."
Jea, standing a bit away from the group, rolled her eyes. "Can we get back to training now?"
Uno, noticing Denise's flustered state, stepped in. "Alright, everyone. Let's focus. We still have a lot to cover."
Denise shot him a grateful look as the team got back to work. They spent the next hour practicing various hissatsu moves and tactics, the intensity and camaraderie of the team growing stronger with each drill.
As the practice wound down, Uno called the team together once more. "Great job today, everyone. We're getting stronger with each practice. Keep working on your moves, and let's make sure we're ready for whatever comes our way."
The team dispersed, heading towards the locker rooms. Denise lingered behind, picking up some stray balls.
Uno approached her, his usual confident smile in place. "You did great today, Denise. Cosmic Blizzard is going to be a game-changer."
"Thanks, Uno," Denise said, her voice soft. "I... I'm glad we worked on it together."
He gave her a gentle pat on the shoulder. "Me too. We're going to take Hypower to new heights."
As they walked off the field together, the bond between them seemed stronger than ever, their partnership on and off the field promising a bright future for Hypower.
