One early morning, as Uno and his friends were training in the pitch. While they were training, as they took a break Uno recieved a phone call, a rather frantic one by his girlfriend. "Uno! I know this is kinda inconvienient but you need to go home, NOW!" Denise yelled through the phone. Uno agreed to rush home, and he did, completely forgetting to inform everybody.
Uno bolted off the pitch without a word to his friends, his heart pounding in his chest. He sprinted across town, weaving through the early morning traffic, his mind racing with worry. When he finally reached his apartment, he found the door ajar. He pushed it open and stumbled inside, calling out, "Denise? Where are you?"
"In here!" her voice came weakly from the living room.
Uno rushed in to find Denise sitting on the couch, clutching her ankle and wincing in pain. A small table had been knocked over, and papers were scattered across the floor.
"Oh my God, Denise, what happened?" Uno asked, dropping to his knees beside her.
Denise took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I was getting ready to head out for my morning run when I tripped over that stupid table. I landed on my ankle and it twisted badly. It hurts so much, Uno."
Uno gently examined her ankle, which was already starting to swell and bruise. "We need to get you to a doctor. Can you stand?"
Denise shook her head, tears brimming in her eyes. "I tried, but it hurts too much."
Uno stood up and grabbed his phone. "I'll call for an ambulance. Just hang in there, okay?"
"Okay," Denise replied, her voice trembling.
Uno quickly dialed emergency services, explaining the situation. After hanging up, he sat back down beside Denise and took her hand. "It's going to be okay. They'll be here soon."
Denise squeezed his hand tightly. "I'm so sorry for interrupting your training. I know how important it is to you."
Uno shook his head. "Don't apologize. You're more important to me than any training session. I'm just glad you called me. I can't stand the thought of you being hurt and alone."
Denise managed a small smile. "Thank you, Uno. I just felt so panicked when it happened. I didn't know what else to do."
"You did the right thing," Uno assured her. "Just focus on staying calm. Help is on the way."
Minutes later, they heard the sound of the ambulance siren approaching. The paramedics arrived swiftly and began to assess Denise's injury.
"Looks like a severe sprain, possibly even a torn ligament," one of the paramedics said after examining her ankle. "We'll need to take you to the hospital for X-rays and an MRI to make sure there's no serious damage."
Uno nodded, his concern evident. "I'll come with you."
As they carefully loaded Denise onto a stretcher, she looked up at Uno. "Please let the others know what happened. I don't want them to worry."
"I will," Uno promised. "But right now, let's get you taken care of."
Uno accompanied Denise to the hospital, holding her hand throughout the ride, offering words of comfort. As they arrived and Denise was taken for X-rays and an MRI, Uno stepped aside to call the team.
"Hey, guys," Uno said when one of his friends picked up. "I'm sorry I disappeared like that. Denise had an accident at home, and I had to rush back. We're at the hospital now."
"Oh man, is she okay?" Lance asked, concern in his voice.
"She's hurt pretty badly," Uno replied. "They think it might be a severe sprain or even a torn ligament. We're waiting on the results now. I'll keep you posted."
