By the time that night fell, Bex and her team were already on the way to the Capitol. But they were rushing more than normal.

A Victor is never late, even when they are late, they're not. Everyone else is just early

After she had cleaned herself up, scrubbed all of the mud off of her and everything else that was 'wrong' with her. She was thrown to the vanity station, "Okay. I have a vision." Danai was always so enthusiastic when it came to what she did best, "Hair curled, half up, half down. We are bringing this red head up as much as we can. Natural everything else, but I am thinking a beige look on the eyes with...a brown glitter, what do we think?"

Bex didn't even have the energy to protest. By the end she was hardly recognisable, but she was a spitting image of Rebecca the Capitol's Golden Girl, which is what she needed for this party. She would always be grateful for Danai for keeping everything natural except for the bringing up of her hair colour.

It was naturally a strawberry blonde hair, but she preferred having it lighter. But for parties she didn't care what colour her hair was as long as she survived the night. Apparently the Capitol people liked the red hair.

Colt walked in and instead of protesting, actually complemented Danai, Colt had once told Bex that he wanted to be a stylist. Men weren't commonly stylists but now that Cinna, District Twelve's stylist was being commended for his work in the 74th Games more men were in the game.

Colt however, was stuck where he was. Whilst his brother was getting praised eternally for his work.

"I wonder if the Girl on Fire will be in attendance?" Danai wondered as she applied the glitter to Bex's eyes

Colt was spinning one of the makeup brushes around his fingers saying, "I doubt it. Not with the chaos she's been causing."

Bex hated last years games. Back in her games she would have killed anyone if it meant both her and Leith managed to get out of the games together.

Katniss and Peeta had caused chaos in District Eight, from what she saw and heard Peacekeepers had to be called in to calm everything down. District Eight was a bomb ready to explode at any given moment, Bex could tell.

"Bex, what do you think?" Danai asked

"About Twelve?" Bex asked and Danai nodded. In no way did Bex believe they were in love. She had seen them enough on the TV to know they had no feelings for each other, "No. It's a game of survival, and they're playing well."

Danai smiled slightly, "I don't believe it either. I heard it quite affected their tour."

Colt chuckled, "Quite? Some of her visits ended in protests and riots. I've talked to other escorts and they're worried that there might be a...well they think there might be a rebellion."

"You're telling me that it ended in riots. My people got killed because of it. Because of her..."

But Bex knew something was being created. She had heard nothing since she met with Plutarch in the Capitol. She didn't even know if it was still happening.

Bex had arrived to the party a little later than everyone else, but as Colt said a Victor is never truly late.

Familiar faces and strangers grabbed her arm to say hello but Bex just followed Colt around until she found someone that she knew and actually wanted to talk to. But Johanna nor Finnick were anywhere to be seen. The first person she saw was Tanner from Five and she was not going anywhere near him.

Looking around the party she saw Cashmere. The two women just nodded to each other. They only ever spoke when they needed to, they had to keep up the act. She then found another familiar face sitting with a hoard of Capitol Women. Finnick was leaning on his hand as a blue haired woman was rambling to him.

Their eyes met from across the room, the pair nodded to each other. She had no doubt that he would find her at some point during the party. When there was a chance.

Bex sighed in relief when she spotted the food table, apart from the sandwich Danai had smuggled her she hadn't eaten all day. She was grateful that that was when President Snow decided to come out with his Granddaughter so no eyes were on her eating.

She turned her heard slightly when she saw someone else move towards the table. Finnick picked up a cake from the table and started to eat it. The cut in his shirt almost as low as the one on her dress, he was wearing blue pants with a white shirt.

"Our President is talking. And you're eating. At least pretend to pay him some mind." He joked

"I'm sure he's getting all the attention he needs." Bex muttered as she put a macaron in her mouth, "Are you okay today?"

Finnick just nodded, "Peachy, you?"

"All good here."

Finnick smiled, "How's Eight? Muddy as usual?"

The triumvirate had rules at parties. Johanna, Bex and Finnick could be as close as they wanted with each other behind closed doors but at parties they had to have their distance, if one of them looked uncomfortable they would join in the conversation with someone else. Not have conversations on their own though, no matter how much they wanted to.

People then began to shout. The pair looked and saw Katniss and Peeta walking into the party with Haymitch. Peeta smiled at everyone whilst Katniss looked like she would rather be anywhere else. People looked more happy to see them than the person the party was for.

"I still don't believe them, you?" Finnick asked

Bex shook her head, "Not a chance...they've done more harm than good they have."

Finnick hummed in agreement, "Good luck tonight...if you need me, you know where I am."

"Likewise."
