Gale had ratted to Katniss. Of course he did, Bex expected nothing less, "You want to go crazy and kill him?" Cashmere asked as they walked into the meeting room, "I won't stop you."
Bex just smiled, "Don't tempt me."
Katniss was furious at everyone. Coin and Plutarch especially. And now she had demanded for them to watch it again, she wanted to see it.
"We need to respond." Gale said when the video was over
Katniss had shock all over her face, wiping tears from her eyes, "Did you see what he looks like?"
"I saw a coward." Gale replied instantly
Cashmere scoffed, "You don't know what he's going through there."
"I don't care! I would never have said those things he said. Not if they tortured me, not with a gun to my head." Gale shot back, Bex just laughed and Gale looked at her, "Problem?"
Bex just shook her head as she stood up, "If you were going through what he's going through right now, you wouldn't have a choice. You would say those things just for a moment of peace. You wouldn't know any different."
Finnick could have stopped her, grabbed her hand as she walked around the table but he didn't, Gale needed to hear what she had to say and she needed to say it, "You want to know what he's going through Twelve? Do you want to know? I'm not sugarcoating it for you."
Katniss paused before she nodded, "Reb..." Haymitch said as he stood up, "She doesn't need to hear it."
"I want to," Katniss replied, "I need to."
Bex nodded, "Good, I was gonna say it anyway." She kicked Gale's chair around to face her, "Look at me when I'm speaking to you, soldier..." Bex looked back at Finnick and he nodded reassuringly, "He is sitting in a dark room for hours on end. He doesn't know who he is, what he is or where he is. The only thing he knows is that he's gonna be hurt. He doesn't know when, but he knows it's coming...and when he leaves that room it is for one of two things. To be filmed like a show pony. Or to be hurt, they're..."
