Everyone in District Eight knew each other. It didn't matter who you were, you were known, which made mentoring all that more difficult.
"We can do it this year." Cecelia said as she and Woof walked Nash and Bex to the train station, "You did it last year."
When Nash had a year of being a Victor he started to wanted to start being a Mentor, he wanted to give Woof that break. It was then that they made the deal of Cecelia and Woof were no longer going to be mentors.
The two newer Victors weren't going to put their own mentors through that anymore. Not if they could help it.
Nash shook his head immediately, "Not a chance. You've done your time in the Capitol. And besides Woof do you even like mentoring?"
Woof just snorted, "I didn't until I mentored you two."
Nash gave him a look, "You didn't mentor me shit. You stuck with Haymitch at the bar the whole time. Let us do this for you. You both kept us alive."
"If we can keep you at home, then we will." Bex added

When Bex walked into the compartment of the train, Nash was already talking with his Tribute. Sometimes they merge, sometimes they didn't. It was a coin toss.
Bex gave Colt, who was eating some of his breakfast, a nod before taking a deep breath and putting her mentoring face before walking over to Isla, sitting across from her on the cushioned seats.
"Are you gonna keep staring at me or give me some advice?" Isla finally snapped and Bex smiled, first test done, she stood up to Bex, which proved that she had fight.
Bex leaned over the table and poured herself a glass of whiskey, ignoring the look that Colt had thrown at her, Johanna would be proud of her day drinking, "That depends on whether you are willing to listen to my advice or not"
"I want to live, don't I?" Isla replied
Bex nodded, "Alright. One question. It's what Cecelia asked me, I asked Nash, Kieran and so on. You ready?" Isla nodded, "Do you want to live? Do you want to get out of that Arena? I haven't seen much fight."
