Bex couldn't deny that things had changed between herself and Finnick. Their relationship was always changing. From the first time they met, to their first party, to the time Snow changed their relationship forever.
It was during the 72nd games when the relationship between Finnick and Bex had changed, "Roof now." These two words and Bex knew that Finnick was not okay, that something had happened in his meeting with Snow.
They rode the elevator to the roof in silence, Finnick looked like he was on the verge of breaking down right in front of her. The second the doors opened then shut again, Finnick burst.
"I fucked up. I fucked up so bad. I didn't just fuck myself over, but you as well."
"Hey, what happened? Tell me what happened. What did he say?" Bex asked
"The meeting it was about..."
Bex filled in the gaps for him, "Mags? Annie?"
Finnick shook his head, "No, Bex. It was about us."
That wasn't what Bex was expecting to hear, "Us?"
Finnick nodded, she could almost feel all of the nerves radiating off of him, "Snow, he told me that you and I are the most requested pair he's had. You know what the clients want." Bex nodded, "He said he can't keep saying no."
Snow wanted to sell them together. He wanted them as a package deal.
"Please don't ask me to do this, not with you."
"We don't have a choice."
Something broke in his voice, something bigger than the fear of loosing someone he cared about. But the fact that he could loose Bex, his best friend, the one person in the world that truly understood him, "I told him we wouldn't do it. I was trying to be like Jo. Make the brave choice...he got to Mags, she's okay. For now."
Bex shook her head, "I saw her at breakfast this morning. She was fine she-"
"It's a warning. He knows how much she means to us. She's alive. If we don't comply then...I don't want to think about what he will do. But I can't ask you to do this."
