Life had gone by in a blur. She still hadn't accepted the fact she was going back, she had come to the conclusion that she wasn't going to go down without a fight. In fact, she was going in with the intention to win for a second time just to piss Snow off.

The goal of the Quell was simple, he just wanted to get the Victors out of the way, Bex knew that. She hadn't heard anything about the rebellion since she left the Capitol last time and with the Quell charging towards them she highly doubted that it was still happening.

But, Bex and all of District Eight prepared for war anyway. Isla and Nash were speaking with everyone. If the Capitol wanted to pull two Victors back into the arena and two to mentor them. Then District Eight would burn them all to the ground.

She spent a lot of her time in an old abandoned cabin in the woods. Woof had took her there when she was back in District Eight and not in her own head.

It was where she had properly met Lucy-Gray, Rhys and Delila. Their own children died from a virus that swept through eight but their grandchildren still lived. Amy and Adam.

"You're all assholes." Bex had said when she walked into the cabin and saw the familiar faces sitting or standing around. She had seen them all around the District.

Amy and Adam didn't know. Their grandparents didn't want them to. What Bex found strange was President Snow's brother was standing right in front of her, but he was the polar opposite.

When the door opened for a second time, Bex smiled at who walked in. This one she knew. This one she knew was her family the whole time but she could never get close to him, Snow had eyes everywhere, "You're no asshole."

"I should hope not."

Bex smiled as Ben Dreesen swept her up in his arms, picking her up from the ground. There were a lot of people in District Eight. People could slip through the cracks, Rhys, Delila and their family and Lucy were the prime examples of that. So when the Peacekeepers rounded up the Dreesens. Lucy-Gray had grabbed the boy that was with her and didn't let him go, didn't let the Peacekeepers see him.

She couldn't save her son, or one of her grandsons, but she could save the other one. Bex had always assumed that Lucy had taken Ben in just because she was a nice lady, not because she was actually their Nana.
