The star-crossed lovers of District Twelve were the biggest hits the Capitol had seen in years. Every game plan that Bex had put in place every single thing she had done, every genius move that she had made. Reeve, Mason and Eva. Isla and Trench. Everything that the Capitol loved that she had done was nothing compared to how much they loved the love story.
"I don't buy it for a second" Johanna said as the three of them walked towards the Mentor Lounge.
"Haymitch said he didn't know about it, that it's genuine" Finnick told her, "But I agree, I call bullshit on the whole thing. Way too convenient, I don't like coincidences."
Bex nodded in agreement, "Total sham. Nash agrees."
"Thank you" Johanna groaned "Seriously, Girl on Fire looks like she would not touch that boy with a ten foot pole...All I know is that if my lover and I were going into the games today, I would've let that person fuck my brains out for a week straight, but she has clearly never been fucked. I bet no one's even-"
Bex cut her off, "Alrighty, Jo. Thanks so much." Johanna chuckled as she opens the door to the lounge and they walked inside
Most of the other mentors were already waiting, Haymitch was sitting at the bar, he looked more nervous than Bex had seen him in years. Maybe this year he was actually trying and Bex had to give him credit for that, something had lit in him.
Nash was at one of the tables with Chaff and Blight. Bex had her Victor friends and so did Nash. Which made her feel a lot better. Chaff, Blight and Nash were their own alliance. She didn't know how they worked exactly but they were all friends.
"You look terrible" Johanna said as they approached the bar, the Avox at the bar already knew what drinks they all wanted, "You and Effie should have done something, that would help."
Haymitch just glared at her, "You're a little shit" Bex just gave him a look and he sighed, "I just need those idiots to make it past the bloodbath and one of them might have a chance"
"You mean your girl might have a chance" Johanna corrected him, "I highly doubt Peeta will last long."
"I haven't decided who I'm going with yet" was Haymitch's reply, he was only one mentor for two Tributes. It got hard for him.
