President Paylor had been ruling Panem in peace for years. And Bex couldn't be prouder of her, a President from District Eight, who would have thought it? The Victors chose her and the people seemed to be happy with that choice. Paylor got rid of the Games, even made a monument with every name of every fallen Tribute from the games on it.
Even the Victors who died.
The list ended with Isla Marriez and Nash Hall.
People found their own happiness. Bex and Delila were the only true District Eight people left but they tried their best. They could never go back to normal, Eight was gone, the people were gone but they could make do with what they had.
Years later, Bex and Finnick had gotten married in District Four. But they still had their District Eight parts. On that day Bex was truly happy, she hadn't had a snap in years, she wasn't truly her old self but her puzzle pieces didn't need so much force to be held together.
On that day in four everyone was happy. Johanna and Blight were dancing together, Peeta and Katniss came, Haymitch and Effie were sitting together whilst Lucy-Gray was singing on the stage. And Cashmere and Gloss were together, as always.
There were people missing. Of course there were, her parents, Connor, Nash and Isla. Cecelia, Woof and Ben. Amy, Adam and even Leith and the Pazzi's but Bex knew they were watching her. They were happy.
Finnick and Bex moved to District Four. The District was partly rebuilt, more than Eight at least. They had a home by the water where Finnick taught her to swim. But sometimes she just liked to sit at their dock, her feet dangling down imagining that this had always been her life.
Nothing stopped Bex from being scared about the future. It didn't stop her from the nightmares, the occasional loss of her puzzle pieces, but they were never as bad as they used to be.
"Daddy!"
Finnick laughed as he saw a dirty blonde haired boy come up in the water, waving a shell at them, "Will if you've got another crab!" Bex shouted down, "Crabs are animals, not pets."
Turns out she was a pretty great mom. To two beautiful babies.
William Nash Odair
and Maggie Isla Odair
Finnick stood up on the dock and jumped into the ocean causing a splash, "Show me what you've got." He said as he swam over to Will.
Bex shook her head with a smile as Maggie sat down beside her, "It's a crab, mom. Will's got a crab." Finnick called over.
"Go and find a shell that's not a crab!" Bex laughed
She smiled as she watched Finnick and Will swim around, occasionally ducking under the water and coming back up again, "You joining in, Mags?"
Maggie shook her head, Maggie was more like her mom than her dad whilst Will was the spitting image of his father.
On that beach, in Four Bex knew she was safe. They were a family, with mad Aunt Johanna showing up at all hours of the day with the occasional Uncle Blight.
She wasn't whole, but she was a new whole and Bex knew one thing as she rested her hand on her baby bump...
There were worse games to play
Thank you for reading. THE END OF GAME OF SURVIVAL
This really has been an up and down, one of the slowest slowburns in history but it was so worth it in the end. I'm definitley going to miss all the friendships of this book and all the alliances.
When I was thinking of names for Finnick and Bex's kids it had to be William and Maggie (Named after their mentors/grandparents, it was only right. And third babies name will be revealed over on my tik tok... )
Thank you for all sticking with this book, commenting it really made me so motivated to write what I knew people liked.
But don't worry I'm not done with this universe just yet...
For the final time...Comment and Vote :)
