Woof had gone with Katniss and Johanna. But he would be okay, he knew about the rebellion, and he knew what to do, what hovercraft to look for. He'd be okay.
Beetee had split everyone up. Finnick and Peeta were guarding him. Blight was on the far right and Cashmere and Gloss were further into the jungle, but just far enough that they could still see everyone else just in case something was to happen.
The Victor from Three was probably in the safest possible position, surrounded by previous, dangerous, Victors.
Bex's brain felt fried, she was sat by the edge of their camp. Her chin rested on the hilt of her sword. She looked down at her suit, moving some of the cut fabric back just enough so she could still see the black veins surrounding the cut on her chest.
And she had no more ointment from Sejanus left.
Bex didn't trust Katniss. She didn't trust Twelve to not take out Johanna and Woof just in case something could have gone wrong.
Her head shot up when she heard leaves rustling, then a figure of someone running. It wasn't a Mutt she would have known, "Chaff..." She muttered as she stood up, plucking her sword from the dirt.
She wanted to get Chaff out of the arena, for Nash. They were friends, the Victor from Eleven had looked after him when she couldn't, alongside Blight. She owed it to Nash to get him out.
But then the figure switched, into someone she hadn't seen in a very long time. Then in that moment, she wasn't in the 74th Hunger Games...she wasn't in the present. She was back in the 66th...back with Leith.
"Yeah, this is complete bullshit." Finnick sighed.
He went to turn away, but Beetee grabbed his arm, "I need you here."
Finnick nodded, "Yeah. And she needs me there." He knew something was wrong with Bex, he didn't know what but could always tell. If there was one thing in the world that he was good at, it was knowing when she needed him.
But when he turned around to walk over to where he knew she was. There was no girl from Eight anywhere to be seen.
"Cash! Gloss! Blight!" Finnick shouted as he ran towards the spot where Bex was. He cursed himself, he never should have turned his back on her, not since Woof left. He should have been by her side the entire time.
