As the days slipped by, Faye found herself oscillating between the sweetness of that brief moment with Kurt and the bitter feeling of uncertainty that followed. She endeavored to maintain her composure, attempting to suppress any surging anxieties. Yet, despite her efforts, these feelings crept back into her thoughts from time to time, catching her off guard.

She resolved to divert her focus back to why she had come to Seattle in the first place—the pursuit of her studies and personal growth. Days began to blend into one another as she attended her classes diligently, pouring herself into coursework and responsibilities. Preferring to maintain a low profile, she resumed her usual routine, aiming to keep any looming expectations at bay.

Amy noticed the shift in Faye's demeanor and gently inquired if there had been any word from Kurt. Faye shook her head slightly, her voice with an air of resignation. "No, not really. It was such a fleeting interaction; I doubt it left any impact for him enough to reach out."

Amy, sensing Faye's underlying disappointment despite her attempt to downplay it, offered some consolation. "These guys' lives are all over the place, you know? He's probably caught up in his own whirlwind, and just didn't have the time to get in touch."

"Yeah, that could be it. But honestly? I am more than content with what we had that day. He was so sweet, very different from what I would expect from a musician." Faye said while driffitng away for a moment and having flash backs of their brief encounter.

As the days flowed by, the memory of that night seemed to settle comfortably in Faye's mind. With each passing day, the encounter felt less like a concern and more like a treasured recollection. One day, as she was making her way through the University of Washington hallways, she finally had an encounter with Blake, who she hasn't spoken to since the concert.

"Hey, President of the Nirvana Official Fan Club," Blake teased with a glint in his eye. "How's it going with Kurt, the soon-to-be love interest?"

Faye laughed, somewhat puzzled. "What are you talking about? He never reached out. I think he was just being polite asking for my number."

Confusion clouded Blake's face. "That doesn't make sense. I've been hanging out with Mark and the band these last few days, and Kurt keeps asking all this questions about you."

Faye was taken aback by this revelation. She had never envisioned sparking any interest, especially not from someone like Kurt. "Really? I... I never thought about it that way."

Blake shrugged. "Maybe the guy is just too shy to make a move. I reckon he's been rehearsing what to say to you."

Faye nodded in silence, still not sure what to think about what Blake had just told her. He interrupted her processing moment with an invitation.

"I'm actually on my way to meet the guys at this bar, then we're going to watch the Melvins tonight. Wanna tag along?"

Faye thought about all the excuses she could come up with, but something inside her wanted to know more about it, and see what was the deal about this guy who, according to Blake, has been asking about her, but didn't reach out. Faye didn't pay much mind to the fact that she still had a class to attend. Instead, she swiftly proposed to Blake that they stop by her dorm first so she could freshen up and drop off her belongings.

While she rummaged through her wardrobe, she attempted to inquire casually about Blake's recent close ties with the band. Blake merely lounged on Faye's bed, lighting up a cigarette, and explained his new living arrangements.

"Yeah, I've sort of moved in with Mark. Been spending a lot of time with the band, since they're so close," he said nonchalantly.

Curious about this unexpected shift, Faye tried to pry for more information, but Blake diverted the conversation. It turned out he was contemplating dropping out of college. Before Faye could express her thoughts, Blake suddenly interjected, "No way you're going out in that sweater. Let me check out Amy's wardrobe. I'm positive she won't mind."
