Girlfriend. It was a title Faye hadn't anticipated holding anytime soon. Yet, here she was, almost a month into an exclusive relationship with Kurt. She couldn't help but feel grateful to be with someone as special as him, and the official status of their relationship made everything more meaningful. Kurt had been a remarkable addition to her life, unquestionably the best thing to come her way in a long time.

In the weeks since they had made things official, they had cherished every moment they could spend together. However, the distance between them often posed a challenge, limiting the time they could share. Despite this, their bond remained strong, fueled by their mutual affection and commitment to making it work.

They phoned each other almost every day, their conversations becoming the highlight of each evening in Faye's routine. One particular day, as she lounged on her bed idly twirling the telephone wire around her fingers, the topic of Dave joining the band arose. It was noticeable how happy and excited Kurt was with the new drummer.

"So, when's the big debut happening? I'm dying to see you guys in action," Faye exclaimed eagerly.

Kurt's voice brimmed on the other end of the line. "Funny you should ask because that's exactly why I called. We've got a gig lined up for next week, right here in Olympia."

Her eyes widened with anticipation. "That's fantastic news, Kurt! I can't wait to be there!"

His tone shifted slightly, a hint of concern creeping in. "Well, here's the thing... It's on a Thursday night." He knew it wouldn't be suitable for her schedule.

She interrupted before he could finish, determination in her voice. "Don't worry about it. I'll be there, no matter what. I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Attending their inaugural performance with the new band formation was non-negotiable for Faye. Not only was it a pivotal moment for the band, but it also coincided with their one-month anniversary, which would be one day previous to the concert—a serendipitous twist of fate. It felt like the perfect way to celebrate. As for skipping classes, she reasoned that her recent exam results had been surprisingly good, so she wasn't too concerned about falling behind. Plus, she figured a long weekend wouldn't be such a bad idea. It couldn't be if it involved being with Kurt.

"I don't even know why I'm saying this, but you know you're always welcome to stay at my place," Amy offered as she watched Faye pack her bag for the trip to Olympia.

Faye couldn't contain herself, a silly grin spreading across her face. "Thanks, Amy, but there's really no need. I'll be crashing at Krist's with Kurt," her excitement palpable.

Amy pulled her into a hug, concern evident in her eyes. "Take care, okay?" she said earnestly.

Despite Kurt's suggestion to leave after her afternoon classes, she opted to depart in the morning. Anxiety for the upcoming day had left her sleepless the night before, so she welcomed the chance to catch some rest on the bus journey. Before she knew it, she was just a few miles away from Olympia.

The moment she stepped off the bus, she spotted him waiting for her.

"Hey there, beautiful," he greeted with open arms.

"Kurt!" She practically ran into his embrace, dropping her bag to the ground.

"I'm so happy you're here," he was holding her close.

"Me too, it feels like a dream," unable to wait a moment longer, she reached up and kissed him passionately. "You pulled out just fine this new haircut," she said between kisses and running her fingers through his hair, which made him giggle.

"Are you sure? I feel stupid," he frowned his brown and placed his hand on top of his head.

"I'm positive. You can pull out anything you want, and you'll still be rocking it," she placed a soft kiss on his cheek, making him blush.
