"So, how was last night?" Amy asked as they sat at the kitchen table for breakfast the morning after Kurt's birthday.

Faye smiled, a warm glow spreading across her face. "It was amazing. Kurt loved the dinner, and he was so surprised by the cake."

"I'm glad to hear that," she returned the smile. "And I see, he must have been really surprised. You guys didn't even touch it," she motioned to the cake, standing still.

Faye felt a flush rise to her cheeks. "Oh, well, we got a little distracted," she admitted shyly.

"I can imagine." She glanced at her, a knowing look in her eyes.

"By the way," Faye took a sip of her coffee before continuing. "I asked Kurt to stick around until the end of the week. I hope that's okay with you."

"Of course," she reassured. "Plus, now that we have our own rooms, it's not like we're tripping over each other."

"Yeah," Faye nodded, playing with her fork. "It's just... I like having him around. Makes everything feel a bit more... easy, I guess."

"You two seem really happy together. How's everything going with the band?" Amy took a bite of her toast, chewing thoughtfully.

Faye shrugged, worry in her eyes. "They're doing great, actually. They have a few concerts lined up in Canada next month. It's exciting, but... I'm a bit nervous about him being gone."

Amy reached across the table, giving Faye's hand a comforting squeeze. "It's okay to feel that way. But you guys will be fine. Just keep communicating."

"Thanks, Amy," she said, grateful for her friend's support. "I'm also trying to focus on my job and the new routine, so I don't get too much in my head."

"I get it. Speaking of which, we should probably head out if we don't want to be late for class."

"I can't wait for this week to be over, seriously," Faye sighed as she collapsed onto the couch after work.

Amy offered a soft grin. "I bought some Chinese, in case you're hungry."

"Thanks," she glanced around the room. "Have you seen Kurt?"

"I think he's in your bedroom," Amy pointed down the hall. "I was going to ask if he wanted some, but he was knocked out."

Faye cracked the door open, revealing Kurt sound asleep. She decided to take a shower before checking on him. The hot water cascading over her shoulders was a soothing balm, easing the tension of the day. It felt like shedding half of her burdens with each drop.

She tiptoed inside the bedroom, and as she brushed her hair, she noticed him waking up. "Hey," she approached him. "You're alive."

"I'm sorry," Kurt sat up, brushing his eyes. "It's just so boring here without you." He leaned in, spreading kisses on her neck.

"I'm sure it is," their conversation took an unexpected turn as she noticed the familiar orange pill bottle near the mattress and reached to grab it.

Kurt's response was immediate, almost defensive. "Oh, those? I had a rough night's sleep yesterday, so I took one to help me relax."

"And today?" she pressed, eager for the truth.

Kurt hesitated, his expression shifting. "Well, I mean... I didn't think you'd want to... I mean, you know..." he stumbled over his words, clearly caught off guard by her inquiry.

"I want to," she asserted, surprising even herself with her boldness. "Last time, you said I should talk to you first," grabbing his hand, she made sure to look straight into his eyes. "So, here I am."
