I grabbed the mustard from the middle of the table

I grabbed the mustard from the middle of the table. Pouring some on my hamburger before squeezing the bread to flatten the burger. I loved sandwiches, mainly chicken burgers. But this would do for now, I take a bite almost moaning in delight.

My dad came back a day earlier than expected. He along with Olivia were treating me to a meal at my dad's and I favorite diner. They had the best milkshakes that were just to die for.

The dinner was a cute little place. Could fit up to fifty people with waiters that dress like they are from the 80s. Everyone knew everyone in this small town and would meet up here if they went out to eat. It was that once place to go if you just wanted fresh food and comfort.

"How's school been? Make any new friends?" Olivia questions from the booth across from me, and next to dad who had left to take a phone call outside.

He was outside the large window next to us as few feet away. He looked annoyed and was pacing around a lot. I turn my attention away not wanting to get caught snooping.

"Not really. A lot of the people there can't tell the difference between their ass and their nose?" I stated.

Olivia chuckles and placed her drink down. Focusing on me a little more, "Any boys?", she asked meeting my dead eyes as I looked back giving nothing away, "What?" She laughed.

"When I was your age I was a little boy crazy" She admits with a teasing grin.

I smile and shake my head, "Not yet. I mean I like both genders. Though it's not really acceptable yet. So I kind of keep to myself. Not really interested in starting a riot."

"Who cares about acceptance! If you love that person regardless of gender then that's all that matters. People can't have a say in your life, especially when it comes to love. Only you are able to make that decision at the end of the day" Olivia explained to me.

"You're right. I'll keep that advice up here" I say pointing to my head.

"Now. Don't tell your dad this. But I seem to catch that Bella and you have a little chemistry, I didn't want to say anything at first. Anything going on there?" She asked.

Most people would think Olivia was prying. But she wasn't in any way. She had been with my dad for almost two years now. And she is the kindest lady I have ever met. She's just a talker and likes to know more about people that she spends time with. I really love Olivia and hope her and my dad get married.

I sighed with a blush on my face. Making the woman's grin bigger.

"Fine. I do have a crush on her. But I also don't know if she feels the same way. Plus I think she has a thing for this guy at our school. And I can never compare to him" I honestly spoke.

I tried not to think about it most of the time. But if Bella had the option to choose between me and Edward. I do believe she would go for him, even though she doesn't know much about him. Due to how much I care for her. I would be willing to let her do whatever she wants. Even if it makes me feel like ripping my heart out of my chest.

"You don't know unless you try. I say go for it and if you get rejected, at least you put your heart on your sleeve" She finished.

I look down at my food picking at the fries. She's not wrong. But I don't really know if I am ready for that heartbreak.

"Girls are you gossiping?" Dad asked making me jump. I hadn't even noticed he came back in. He was already sitting down.

"A girl never tells" Olivia dismissed making me smile again.

"Who were you on the phone with?" I asked putting my full attention on my father.

"Don't you worry your pretty little head about that. How about after this we go see a movie in port Angeles?" He replied.

He was hiding something. Usually dad tells me most things. But I could tell by the pinched look and change of subject that he wasn't telling me something. I get that from him.

"No thanks. I'm going with Bella and the girls for prom shopping" I tell him.

"My daughter is going dress shopping?" He snickered making his girlfriend slap his hand.

"Not for me obvs, you won't catch me dead in a dress" I snorted.

"Oh please you used to run around the house in little tutus, and princess dresses as a little girl. At nine I couldn't get you out of them you refuse to take it off. I remember throwing you in the kiddie pool just to clean you at one point" dad states making us all laugh.

This man really tied to drown me.
