"Throwing me into trees is not a way to get me to like you" Garrett a nomad grins dusting dirt off his pant legs. I for one loved garret, he's a very sweet and loyal man. But he's also funny as hell, his energy just fills whatever room he walks into. He and I have had a lot of playful banter since I met him. His new mate Kate finds us funny and is typically caught laughing when the two of us are in the same place.

"Oh Garrett, you love me. We're besties" I joked slamming a ball of red hot energy against his body making him fly back into another tree. The tree tumbled to the ground with a large crashing sound, birds flying out of the branches and Garrett groaning.

Everyone is in their own little areas around the large back yard. Training their gifts or doing hand to hand combat. Just in case it will be needed. Some of the older vampires were a little rusty and needed the practices. While Garett is teaching me not to run straight into something I may not be able to handle. As a newborn I am the strongest and fastest here, but my instincts are drive by pure emotion and I needed to learn control.

Garrett suddenly disappears from my sight and I frantically look around. Only to be caught in a. Head lock as he ruffles my hair. "You're dead," he speaks into my ear.

"Dammit" I groan pushing his hands away.

"Remember," he starts, "Never loose focus on your target. They can slip away at any moment and attack when you least expect it. Not bad for a rookie though."

His words gave me flash backs to the newborn battle. The words that Jasper said aligned with Garrett's so well. The soldier in them coming to the surface in times of need. I feel a shiver wrack through my body when I get vivid flashes of the battle. Jacob getting hurt, the bodies burning from my own flames; Bree getting torn apart. Things that would never leave my mind no matter how hard I tried to push it back. All those innocent lives lost because they fought for a cause of something they had nothing to do with. They lost their human lives only to loose their immortal ones not long after their change.

Jasper, oh how I missed him and Alice so much. The gap in my heart from them being gone was only h getting worse and worse. I didn't know how much longer I could be without them.

"I think it's my turn now," Kate grins stepping up, "This one's full power."

Kate and Garrett go head to head and I slip away allow them to fight. Well more like flirt as they attack one another. Everyone is sparing with someone else. Though Ezra is standing next to Edward as they talk.  I walk up to the two men drawing smiles from them both. It was nice to see them getting along these past couple of days.

".....she's a shield, if she knows how to project it our gifts won't work against them."

"I may be able to help with that" Ezra replied as I come to a stop next to him. Edward gives me a look telling me he knew what I was thinking only moments ago, and he holds his arms out. I hug him around his middle section and sink into his comforting arms.

"Help with what?" I asked being nosy. I pull my head away from Edward's chest to get a good look at Ezra.

"The fight. If I can get close enough to Isabella my powers will be able to disarm hers" Ezra answered.

One thing I can say with full certainty is that Ezra is a man of many wonders. The few days that I have gotten to spend with him I've found out a lot about what he was. He wasn't a vampire, he's a a witch; though he prefers the term warlock. It explained how he had been able to track me when he never knew me. I understood how he was immortal, not only was he a warlock, but he is one of the first to ever grace this earth with his presence. Being able to live forever was just one of the perks, plus unlimited power. He is the most powerful being out of everyone here.
