The amount of anger and discomfort that crashed into my body as Edward's hand met Aros hit me full force. I didn't like the condescending look placed on the Kings face as he stared into my mates eyes. Red rubies as dark as blood glaring back into topaz as gold of the sun. Though Edward never wavered or broke the contact, I could practically feel the tension radiating off of him from here.

I wanted to run over there and snatch Edward away from the man. I certainly could have done that, maybe even should. But this was the whole purpose of our preparations: getting Aro and his coven to hear and see our side of the story. And though it pained me to watch Edward willingly walk into the lions den, I knew it must be done.

Every memory, ever sound, and taste, and smell: every insight and secret that Edward had in his mind; were now not only his, but Aros thoughts as well. I could feel my frustration boiling over, and my body taking a step forward. Only for a hand to press against my back, and a whisper so silent that even I barely could hear was placed near my ear.

"Easy" Ezra whispered to me. I clenched my fist and locked my jaw, but felt a little more relaxed from his presence. His stance was still next to me, and I could see him glaring at a particular king who looked at him with a smirk. Ezra's hands clenched in fist and I could feel the energy vibrating on his skin as I pulled his hand into mine.

The physical contact was only a few seconds before Aro dropped his hand, and a laugh so wicked and chilling breaks loose from the lang haired man's throat. His laughter scarier than the display on his side of the line.

"You see?" Edward asked, his velvet voice calm. My shoulders dropped feeling ease settle in. I didn't want to look around but I knew that emotion switch anywhere. I just couldn't see from my point of view. They were near.

"Yes, indeed, I do see Edward," Aro agreed with amusement laced in his tone, " I do doubt whether to among gods or mortals have ever seen quite so clearly." Aro turns his head for a split second and his eyes fall on Bella, who had turned at some point to watch Edward. But he focus back to the rest of us in a split second.

"You have given me much to ponder, young friend," Aro added, "Much more than I expected. Kaylia, I would like to meet her in her new transition" he addressed my mate.

"What is this about, Aro," Carlisle snapped before Edward could answer. Though his real question was clear to the rest of us. Aro could see me right now, why did I need to be in reaching distance even after everything he saw? Power, power would be the answer. He wanted to see how much we feared him.

I wasn't scared of him one bit.

"Oh dear friend. This is something I have never dreamed of. Take a moment to ponder on it, while I speak with the girl. The justice we intended to deliver no longer applies" Aro grinned. He points a long crooked finger at me, and motions me forward. I don't hesitate as I make my intentions clear. I would go, the closer to my lone mate the better.

Carlisle hisses as I walk across the field, my eyes locked on Aros and his only. "Peace, brother" Aro cautioned the man soothingly.

Sure, this should have been good news. Everything that we all had been hoping for since we learned of their travels. But all of the mans words were riddled with puzzles. There is peace because of my immortality and he knows that we are mated. So that wouldn't be something we would be targeted with. But there is truly no peace, not until I agreed to join his guard. While his focus was on one goal only, my mind ran a mile a minute. Even now, he didn't know I was ten steps ahead of him.
