I stand on the back porch of my home. Observing our friends and family as they talk together. Some are hugging, others a crying tears that won't fall. But everyone is smiling, the atmosphere is light between everyone. But I stood alone, tension holding me back from approaching anyone. Everyone knows what I had done, but nobody has said anything. I was scared that maybe I had taken things too far. But nobody was avoiding me, I felt it deep down that they were giving me space. My body language wasn't exactly saying 'get your ass over here and talk to me.'

"Thank you," Garrett smiled surely standing next to me. I tilt my head to the side in question. I couldn't think of a reason for the man to be thanking me. I hadn't done anything that he asked me, at least that I've known of. "I really mean it Lia. You've just changed the world, and you don't even know it."

Ezra and mines trip took only a few days. We were in the castle for hours taking out vampires loyal to the kings before we took them out. After watching the castle burn in the dead of the night, we left and brought home the heads with us. To prove that we had did what we had done to the others. Honestly felt like a serial killer moment. But ehh, it wouldn't matter. At least not in the world we are part of.

"I don't know if I changed anything," I sighed as I twist my coven ring around my finger, "I've prevented the Volturi from ever harming anyone again. From leading others in their own game of chess. But I am sure I've pissed off a lot of people."

My eyes fall on my family members who are scattered around the back yard. Everyone saying their final words before the vampires headed home, and the pack went on their way. To say my mates weren't happy with me would be an understatement. They are all heated, not at the fact of me wanting and ending the Volturi; but the sole fact that Ezra and I lied and ran off. That I kept a secret from them, one where I may not have came back from.

"They understand why you did it," Garrett stated pulling my attention back to him. My lingering eyes on a stotic Emmett falling away. He was the most angry with me. "Look, you and Ezra did something that was dangerous. But you also are helping to make our world a little easier. There's always gonna be repercussions that come after. Though, I'm sure if anyone can handle it...it's you. Little badass" he chuckled. My lips twitching up at his words.

He was right. Maybe I could have went after it a different way. Yet sometimes decisions have to be made by just yourself, and I chose to make this decision and run with it. There would be vampires that could come out of the dark now, they wouldn't have to hide in fear that Volturi would come after them or a member of their coven at any given moment. The immortal world would now have decisions, their own freedom to live without fear.

"I'm happy to hear that, honestly. I just worry that taking away the leaders will cause a bit more chaos" I explain. Nobody knew that the Volturi were gone yet, just those of us here right now. Though it wouldn't be long before word got out. There were still good, and bad vampire out there. Someone would still have to take care of the ones doing the dirty deeds.

"I think I have a solution to that," Garrett chuckled, "I may know who we can ask to lead the vampire society" he jokes. The man ruffles my hair and points a quick finger at a couple talking with Peter.

"I like that idea, " I grinned looking at Benjamin and Tia. Tia catches us looking and raises an eyebrow, I wink at her and look away.

"I'll visit with Kate and others after we are settled. You keep me posted" he said.

"Give me a hug before you head out, I still have to say bye to some others" I demand locking him in a tight hug before he could say anything. I would miss Garrett, I'd miss all of them. Garrett hugs me a moment longer then let's go and walks off.
