"Are you okay now little dove?" Emmett asked. Wiping away the little drop of blood from her lips. Everyone was deep in the woods, the Cullens sitting around Kaylia almost in a protective circle. With Edward holding the girl on his lap as he combs his fingers through her hair.
Emmett and Rose were leaned against each other in front of Edward and Kaylia, holding their arms around one another's waist. Esme and Carlisle sat to Kaylia right sending her small grins, Esmes legs resting on her husband's lap as he smooths circles on her thighs. Jasper and Alice are sitting on the girls other side, the two of them holding hands as they lay down in the grass.
"Yes I am" She answers.
"You kicked ass tackling an Elk the way you did" Jasper says. Kaylia smirks thinking back to how fast she had been. The animal hadn't even seen her coming.
Kaylia takes her eyes away from the water flowing down stream. Her no longer black, but red eyes looking over all her mates. They are smiling at her but she can't help but frown. She turns her head so she can see Edward's face. He looked relaxed with his mate sitting with him. But his eyes held an undertone of sadness.
"I'm sorry I almost murdered your lover" She apologized. She wouldn't say it, but she didn't really feel that bad.
"Don't apologize angel," he smiled, "I'm just happy you're okay. I'm sorry that she came into our home like that."
"But she's your soon to be wife. You should be mad at me" Kaylia tries to tell him. A confusing frown on her face.
"I couldn't be mad at you if I tried. She could have been hurt because she didn't care at all about the boundaries we have all set with her. She didn't give one thought to how it could affect you. If anything I'm pissed at her" He explains.
"Yeah and you should never be sorry. We don't care about how she feels. Sorry Edward," Carlisle says, "We care about you. You are our first priority."
"If I could cry right now I would," Kaylia sighed, "Gosh I've become such a whiny bitch this last year," she adds as she chuckles.
"Don't degrade yourself my love," Esme replied, "You've been through so much. Something no one should ever have to deal with. But you always come out on top."
"Our badass little mate" Emmett adds smirking. They all share a laugh, his words brightening the mood.
"We love you for you" Alice tells Kaylia. She wanted to make sure she knew. Sometimes they don't say it enough. But after fucking up the first time with her, they would never do that again. They would burn the world down if it meant keeping her in it.
"So what are you going to do now?" Jasper questioned Edward. Everyone looks at the man seeing him freeze with all the eyes on him.
He looks to Kaylia to see her looking down at her hands. Then he looks at the sky as if asking for answers.
