James laid in bed and let his mind wander over a wide range of thoughts until it was time to wake Emily. After the hour had passed, he rolled over and gently kissed Emily to wake her. Emily grumbled and buried her head further against James' chest. She was warm and comfortable and didn't want to get up.
"If I let you sleep longer, you won't be able to sleep tonight." James softly reminded her before kissing her again.
"Mmm... fine," she murmured before lifting her head and looking at him sleepily.
"I love how you look when you first wake up." James chuckled.
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Oh really, now?"
"Of course I do. Your hair all a mess, crusties in your eyes, and that occasional little drool smudge." James chuckled. "I see you like that every morning, and feel emotions I can't even describe, knowing I'm the one who gets to wake up next to you."
Emily chuckled as her cheeks turned pink. "I love waking up next to you, too."
"I would hope so. I want to wake up next to you when we are old and grumpy." James teased.
She rolled her eyes but snuggled up against him. "I'll be old and grumpy and wrinkly... I'm not so sure about you."
"I don't know what I'll look like, but I know I will be waking up to your messy gray hair." James promised.
Emily smiled before reaching up and grasping his shirt. "C'mere handsome."
"Yes ma'am." James chuckled, letting Emily pull him down for a kiss. "What do you want me to make for dinner?" He asked before kissing her again.
"Mmm," she giggled between kisses. "Besides you?"
"I'm obviously dessert." James teased with a smirk.
"Of course." Emily grinned and pecked his lips again. "What about pizza? Could order in?"
"Pizza sounds great. What toppings?" James asked Emily.
"Veggie," she replied. "Just no onions."
"Alright Jarvis, one veggie pizza with no onions, and one pizza with every meat topping they have." James told the AI. "And a couple orders of breadsticks." He added.
"Yes sir. Your order will arrive in forty-five minutes." Jarvis replied.
Emily put her arms behind her head. "Look at you, embracing technology."
"I'm trying and Jarvis is easier to use than a cell phone." James chuckled.
"Oh, the evil cell phone," she giggled.
"My thoughts exactly. Cell phones are so complicated. I don't know how you work one so easily." James admitted.
"Awe," Emily cooed. "I can help you if you ever need me to."
"Maybe after things calm down a little." James answered, not sure he would be in the mindset to properly learn a phone with the Loki situation.
"Whenever you want," she assured.
"Do you want to eat in here, or at the table?" James asked. "Is pizza something he will eat?" He asked, realizing he knew very little about Loki's food preferences, or anything else really.
"If he's hungry, he'll eat anything, but he likes pizza," Emily replied with a nod. "We can eat at the table. I need to check on him."
"You know I would offer to deal with him for you, but we don't have a great history, so I doubt he would cooperate for me." James said, regretting that he couldn't be of more help right now.
