Taehyung was mesmerised. When the lights came back on and Jungkook had disappeared completely, his gaze remained riveted on the empty stage. An angel? No, certainly not. The little singer was much more than that. He was far more beautiful, far more tragic than an angel. An angel was far too pure to interest Taehyung.

No, Jungkook was more like a demon. A fallen angel who had given in to sin. Yes, Jung Jungkook was a delicious sin. And Taehyung wanted to devour him so badly.

"Tae?"

The gangster was pulled out of his thoughts when Jimin shook him slightly, his eyebrows furrowed. The auditorium had begun to empty, the show now over for several minutes. But despite this, Taehyung had kept his eyes glued to the empty stage. And seeing their boss dreaming like that worried the two men more than anything else. In general, it didn't augur anything good.

"We should go, Taehyung. We might disturb the cleaning team." Hoseok explained.

"Since when do you care about the employees?" Taehyung scoffed as he stood up, pulling his coat over his shoulders.

Hoseok rolled his eyes, as his two friends looked on in amusement.

"I care since it's Yoongi's cabaret."

"Wow, you don't even hide your feelings any more." Jimin grinned slyly.

But this smile was reciprocated by Taehyung, who never missed a chance to make fun of the two acolytes.

"You can talk, Jimin, your eyes shine every time we talk or see Yoongi."

The little blond turned red in a split second, and left to hide behind Hoseok, who was laughing out loud. They eventually left the room and went through to the reception area, where Yoongi was still leaning against his old counter, having swapped his old newspaper for a fashion magazine. He didn't look like it, but the thirty-year-old always stayed informed about the latest fashions, especially to give his dancers and singer the best outfits.

When he heard the three men pass by, he automatically looked up to see them joining him, and they stopped in front of him with smiles on their faces.

"So, did you enjoy the show?" he asked, without taking his eyes off Jimin and Hoseok. The attraction they had for each other was more than obvious.

"It was incredible, Hyung." Jimin replied, with hearts in his eyes. "Your cabaret really is the best by far!"

Yoongi tried to hide it, but the three men noticed the pink that spread across his cheeks. And this reaction made Hoseok and Jimin smile.

"In any case," continued Taehyung, "the rumours weren't lying. Your little singer is really incredible. He's really... captivating."

Yoongi couldn't miss the passion in Taehyung's eyes. And that worried him. He liked Taehyung, but he also knew how dangerous he was. Associating with Taehyung was a guaranteed trip to hell. He already didn't approve of Jimin and Hoseok working for him, but for him to show an interest in Jungkook...

"Taehyung, he's just a poor cabaret singer. That's all he is." he warned, in an almost threatening tone.

But unfortunately for him, the smile on Taehyung's lips only deepened, and the passion in his eyes burned even brighter.

"Do you think so? I'm not so sure..."

"Taehyung-"

"If you can't see his potential, I can't do anything for you." the gangster cut him off. "But I can't help myself when such beauty passes before my eyes."

The gangster waved at the poor thirty-year-old, before telling his men to follow him.

"I missed the cabaret." Taehyung said before leaving. "I'll be coming more often."

Yoongi said nothing more, contenting himself with silently watching the three men leave the cabaret, with the promise that they would return soon.

When Jungkook left the stage, going to lock himself in the dressing room as usual, he was confused. His heart was racing and he was sweating profusely. It was a new feeling, not so different from anything he'd felt before, but there was something new.

That man in the audience. The look in his eyes was different from the others. Once Jungkook had looked into his eyes, he couldn't take them off him. It was as if he was absorbed by those eyes, which seemed to light up with a strange flame as they looked at him. Jungkook was both captivated and terrified.

He had a bad feeling. As if... as if this man had understood everything. As if in one look, he'd seen everything about him. And it was so terrifying. He had spent his whole life building huge, thick walls around his heart, so that the real him would never see the light again. But this man, this stranger, he seemed to have shattered all those walls with a single glance.

Jungkook's heart wouldn't calm down. It was as if a storm had awoken inside him, destroying everything in its path. If up until now the young man had managed to control his emotions, that was no longer the case. In a split second, everything he was had been turned upside down. With just one look.

"I-I need to think about something else..." muttered the singer.

He hurried to undress, swapping his stage clothes for his office clothes, buttoning up the shirt in which Jungkook couldn't breathe. Then he went and sat down at the dressing table, and took off his make-up. But he wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing. He was far too lost in thought.

This man... Jungkook needed to know more. It couldn't be just anyone. And if there was one person here who could tell him, it was his boss. Yoongi knew everyone here, he was Itaewon's encyclopaedia. Everyone who set foot in the neighbourhood ended up being known by the thirty-year-old. If he wasn't such an honest man, he could have governed Itaewon. But he preferred only take interest in his old cabaret.

Once he had removed his make-up, Jungkook left the dressing rooms to go to the entrance of the cabaret. And just as he thought, Yoongi was there, still leaning against his counter, his eyes glued to his magazine.

"You look troubled." remarked the thirty-year-old without looking up at the singer.

Jungkook bit his cheek, trying not to be surprised when Yoongi so easily guessed his emotions.

"I am."

"Why?" he asked.

Jungkook hesitated, unsure. But if he wanted to know, he had no other choice.

"There was a man in the room..."

"That's all there were, men, Jungkook..."

"Ahah, very funny. Let me finish."

Yoongi gave a small, amused smile, then turned to the singer, giving him his full attention.

"I... I think he was wearing a grey suit. He... He looked really powerful, he kept staring at me... Do you know him?"

To Jungkook's surprise, his boss's gaze darkened. Oh, so he knew who he was talking about.

"If you really want to know, I can tell you. It was Kim Taehyung. A criminal you should stay away from."

"But I..."

"Jungkook." Yoongi cut him off. "Your life's complicated enough as it is, he'll only make it worse. Really, take my advice."

Jungkook nodded. He just hoped he wouldn't run into him again.
